  • Patent number: 5773048
Abstract: A cylindrical retainer assembly for an injection molding machine includes a cylindrical body having a diametral through channel with a curved wall for receiving a complementarily configured end of an actuator. A spacer disc having a diameter substantially equal to the diameter of the cylindrical retainer body defines an aperture which receives and centers the actuator. The retainer assembly is received within a stepped cylindrical opening in the pin plate of the injection molding machine. An alternate embodiment retainer assembly includes a peripheral flange disposed adjacent the bottom of the retainer which may be received and retained within a cylindrical opening in the pin plate having straight walls and an adjacent recessed region. Pairs of resilient biasing members may be utilized to center the actuator in the cylindrical retainer.

  • Patent number: 5403179
Abstract: A collapsible mold core assembly facilitates formation of features such as channels and undercuts in interior regions of molded articles. The assembly includes a central, fixed pyramidial base member having a first plurality of obliquely oriented channels which receive a like plurality of first mold core segments and a second plurality of parallel channels interleaved with the first plurality of channels. The second plurality of channels receives a like plurality of intermediate members which, in turn, receive a like plurality of second mold core segments. The plurality of first mold segments withdraws from the mold and the plurality of second mold segments, which are constrained to move generally radially within the mold collapse radially inwardly to facilitate removal of the molded part.

  • Patent number: 5281127
Abstract: An articulated core blade assembly provides improved release of undercuts and similar structures in mold cavities. The articulated core blade assembly includes a retainer secured to an ejector plate, a lifter which moves the product and releases the undercut and a pivot arm which couples the lifter to the retainer. A first knuckle joint couples one end of the pivot arm to the retainer and a second knuckle joint couples the other end of the pivot arm to the lifter. The knuckle joints provide limited pivoting motion about parallel, spaced-apart axes. The articulated core blade assembly may be utilized in a broad range of injection molding machines utilizing plastics, metals and other injection molded materials.

  • Patent number: 4606477
Abstract: The disclosure concerns a reinforced plastic bottle or vessel with a relatively large neck with buttressed threads and bevelled rim on its neck onto which threads is screwed a cap assembly. This cap assembly comprises a plastic cap base member having a pair of parallel ribs forming a channel between an integral handle and a nozzle connection, a plastic manual air pump, a plastic siphon, a valve and spray nozzle assembly, and a lever disposed in said channel to operate the valve. The air pump is supported by an integral flange and depends vertically from the cap base member into the bottle with a disc-type checkvalve at its bottom. This air pump is attached to the cap base by a piston-guiding cap having a pair of diametrically opposite resilient hooks that snap into slots in parallel walls of said channel in the cap base member on each side of the piston-guiding cap.

  • Patent number: 3930777
Abstract: A molded plastic J-shaped trap or conduit has a U-portion with a laterally curved or slightly helical configuration to provide for automatically producing the conduit within a multiple cavity injection mold. The mold includes a set of mold sections which define a U-shaped cavity having a slight helical configuration, and a slight helical U-shaped core member is supported within the cavity by a core support rod and a set of core slides which engage opposite ends of the core member. The core member and one of the core slides are adapted to be elevated after the mold sections are opened to remove a molded conduit from the cavity, and the core member remains supported by the core support rod which extends through the one core slide. The molded conduit is stripped from the core member by an annular stripping plate which is moved by an actuator along the core member in a helical path, and the conduit is directed past the core support rod as the conduit is being stripped.
