  • Patent number: 9245415
Abstract: When the player identifies herself to a gaming machine at a casino, for example by inserting a player tracking card into the card reader, she is, at generally the same time, logging onto a game provider's backend system (the game provider being different from the casino operator). This concurrent sign-on to the game provider's system is done in a non-intrusive, transparent, and passive manner. The player is not distracted from the normal steps leading to game play on the machine until she is ready to redeem points with the game provider or for some reason additional authentication is needed from the player. By virtue of this single sign-on to the game provider network, in addition to continuing game play across different casinos, the player can publish events to the Internet, such as on social networking sites, take advantage of offers targeted specifically for her, or facilitate responsible gaming programs.

  • Publication number: 20160010472
Abstract: The present invention provides a protective coating for a gas turbine blade or other component wherein the duplex coating includes an aluminum-bearing coating, such as a diffusion aluminide, formed on a first, relatively higher temperature region of the blade/component and a later-applied chromium-bearing diffusion coating formed on an adjacent relatively lower temperature region of the blade/component subject to hot corrosion in service. The chromium-bearing coating is applied after the aluminum-bearing coating by masking that coating and depositing a metallic chromium coating on the adjacent region followed by diffusing the chromium into the blade/component alloy to form a chromium-enriched diffusion coating thereon.

  • Publication number: 20160012159
Abstract: The present invention provides a process for making a flow conditioning device that transforms an input flow into a desired output flow. The process includes the steps of inputting into a computer program a set of design constraints representative of the input flow and the output flow. The computer program generates a design representative of a flow-conditioning device that transforms the input flow into the output flow. The process then provides the output design to an additive manufacturing or other suitable production system adapted to form a solid representation of the flow-conditioning device.

  • Publication number: 20160011907
Abstract: Configurable per-task state counters for processing cores in multi-tasking processing systems are disclosed along with related methods. In part, the disclosed embodiments include a work scheduler and a plurality of processing cores. The work scheduler assigns tasks to the processing cores, and the processing cores concurrently process multiple assigned tasks using a plurality of processing states. Further, task state counters are provided for each assigned task, and these task state counters are incremented for each cycle that the task stays within selected processing states to generate per-task state count values for the assigned tasks. These per-task state count values are reported back to the work scheduler when processing for the task ends. The work scheduler can then use one or more of the per-task state count values to adjust how new tasks are assigned to the processing cores.
