  • Publication number: 20230345360
Abstract: Systems and methods for improved geolocation in a network are disclosed. An end node may transmit a signal. The signal may be received by a plurality of computing devices. Receipt times of the signal at the plurality of computing devices may be used to determine a location of the end node.

  • Patent number: 11729713
Abstract: Systems and methods for improved geolocation in a low power wide area network are disclosed. One example method may include receiving an instruction to determine a geolocation of an end in a low power wide area network. An instruction may be transmitted to the end node for the end node to transmit a high-energy geolocation signal at a power of about 0.5 Watt to about 1 Watt. The end node may transmit the high-energy geolocation signal and a plurality of gateways of the low power wide area network may receive the high-energy geolocation signal. A plurality of receipt times may be identified. Each receipt time may be indicative of the time at which the high-energy geolocation signal was received by the respective gateway of the plurality of gateways. Based at least in part on the plurality of receipt times, a geolocation of the end node may be determined.

  • Publication number: 20230104808
Abstract: A reduced-complexity Internet of Things sensor is disclosed. An example apparatus comprises memory storing one or more sensor event messages, a radio configured to determine a sensor event, a counter configured to output incremental counter states, and a control circuitry. The control circuitry may be in communication with the memory, the radio, and counter, and the sensor. The control circuitry may be configured to determine, based on the sensor event, a select sensor event message of the one or more sensor event messages. The control circuitry may be further configured to output, via the radio signal, a packet comprising the select event message and an indication of a counter state associated with the sensor event message.

  • Publication number: 20220095233
Abstract: Systems and methods for effectuating communication in a low power wide area network using a mobile data-handling device are disclosed. A method may comprise moving a mobile data-handling device to a first position that is within communication range of an end node of a low power wide area network. The mobile data-handling device may receive a data packet from the end node and may move to a second position at which the mobile data-handling device connects to a data-receiving device. The mobile data-handling device may transmit, via the data-receiving device, the data packet to a computing system for further processing.

  • Publication number: 20120278459
Abstract: The rate of incoming data is adjusted based on processor utilization. A threshold of processor usage at which incoming data can be stopped by deferring TCP window updates can be specified. A threshold at which incoming data can be resumed by opening the TCP window can be specified. The threshold can be determined by the operating system or by a rate-adaptive video rendering application.
