  • Patent number: 4772425
Abstract: A stable, high foaming, light duty liquid abrasive-containing dishwashing composition containing about 3% to 15% by weight of a water insoluble, particulate, low density abrasive suspended in an aqueous vehicle comprising at least one water-soluble, anionic sulfated or sulfonated detergent salt containing an alkyl group or alkenyl group having from 8 to 20 carbon atoms in the molecule, a betaine foam booster, about 1-3% by weight of a substantially completely hydrated colloidal clay as a stabilizing agent and, optionally, about 2% to 9% of a C.sub.2 -C.sub.3 alcohol is disclosed. The presence of the abrasive greatly improves the cleaning efficacy in removing baked-on and/or dried-on food residues without significant scratching when used full strength.

  • Patent number: 4610796
Abstract: The patent specification discloses a method of softening fabrics by agitating them in an aqueous medium containing(a) a heavy duty spray dried built synthetic detergent composition consisting of 10% sodium linear tridecyl benzene sulfonate, 2% of a nonionic detergent which consists of a C.sub.14 -C.sub.15 fatty alcohol condensed with an average of 11 ethylene oxide groups per molecule, 1% of a mixed sodium coconut/tallow (20:80) fatty acid soap, 33% of pentasodium tripolyphosphate, 7% of sodium silicate wherein the ratio of Na.sub.2 O to SiO.sub.2 is 1:2.35, 0.5% sodium carboxymethyl cellulose, with the balance of the detergent composition being optical brighteners, about 38% sodium sulfate, and about 7% moisture;(b) a softening composition consisting of about 20% of distearyl dimethyl ammonium chloride, about 40% of Type A synthetic sodium molecular sieve zeolite having a mean particle diameter of 5.9 to 6.4 microns and containing about 21% water, and about 40% sodium perborate;wherein about 0.1% to about 0.

  • Patent number: 4427410
Abstract: A wash cycle fabric softening composition contains a water soluble organic cationic fabric softening agent and a water insoluble molecular sieve zeolite, usually in a weight ratio of 1:1 to 1:20. The composition effectively softens fabrics, reduces or eliminates static cling and is compatible with organic detergents, providing an excellent building effect, in detergent-softener combinations, even with wash waters of high calcium hardnesses and has good, low residue deposition characteristics. The composition may also contain a water soluble organic detergent and/or a bleaching agent.

  • Patent number: 4368147
Abstract: A liquid detergent having a viscosity in the range of 40 to 120 centipoises at 24.degree. C. and which is fluid at 7.degree. C. which consists essentially of, by weight, from 10% to 60% of a water soluble C.sub.2 -C.sub.3 alkoxylated C.sub.10 -C.sub.18 alkanol nonionic detergent; 4% to 12% of a C.sub.2 -C.sub.3 alkanol, the proportion of alcohol being such that the physical properties of the liquid detergent would be unsatisfactory in the absence of a viscosity control and gel prevention agent 1% to 6% of sodium or potassium formate as a viscosity control and gel prevention agent and 22 to 84.5% of water.

  • Patent number: 4203852
Abstract: A wash cycle fabric softener, bleach and anti-cling composition compatible with organic detergents consisting essentially of a cationic softening agent, preferably a quaternary ammonium softener, and an inorganic peroxygen bleach compound in the weight ratio of 17:1 to 1:4 and preferably 10:1 to 1:1 of bleach:cationic.

  • Patent number: 4092273
Abstract: A liquid detergent having a viscosity in the range of 40 to 100 centipoises at 24.degree. C and which is fluid at 7.degree. C which consists essentially of, by weight, from 10% to 60% of a water soluble C.sub.2 -C.sub.3 alkoxylated C.sub.10 -C.sub.18 alkanol nonionic detergent, 4 to 12% of C.sub.2 -C.sub.3 alkanol, 1 to 6% of a water soluble salt of a dibasic acid of the formula (CH.sub.2).sub.n (COOH).sub.2, wherein n is 3 to 5 as a viscosity control and gel prevention agent, and the balance water.

  • Patent number: 3985687
Abstract: A liquid detergent of desired viscosity, conveniently pourable at room temperature and fluid at lower temperatures, includes polyethoxylated higher alkanol nonionic synthetic organic detergent, either polyethoxy higher alkanol sulfate or higher alkyl benzene sulfonate synthetic anionic organic detergent or a mixture of both, lower alkanol, sodium chloride, sodium nitrate and water, in certain proportions. The presence of the sodium chloride-sodium nitrate mixture allows the use of a lesser quantity of lower alkanol as a thinning and viscosity controlling agent, helps to maintain the liquid detergent pourable at room temperature and lower temperatures, and to avoid production of film on the surface of the detergent when a volume thereof is left exposed to air in an open container, and the salt mixture is essentially non-corrosive.
