  • Patent number: 10891233
Abstract: Systems, apparatuses and methods may provide for technology to automatically identify a plurality of non-volatile memory locations associated with a file in response to a close operation with respect to the file and automatically conduct a prefetch from one or more of the plurality of non-volatile memory locations that have been most recently accessed and do not reference cached file segments. The prefetch may be conducted in response to an open operation with respect to the file and on a per-file segment basis.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 28, 2018
Date of Patent: January 12, 2021
    Assignee: Intel Corporation
Inventors: Scott Burridge, William Chiu, Jawad Khan, Sanjeev Trika

  • Patent number: 8820474
Abstract: An ear tip piece device made of resilient material dimensioned for fitting the ear canal of a user, having a solid portion, a reversibly compressible portion and a first channel. In one embodiment, the ear tip piece is asymmetrical due to a bend. In another alternative embodiment, the ear tip piece has a second channel that is used for allowing natural transmission of sound to the ear.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 25, 2011
Date of Patent: September 2, 2014
Inventors: Don E. K. Campbell, William Chiu
  • Patent number: 8800712
Abstract: An ear tip piece device made of resilient material dimensioned for fitting the ear canal of a wearer, having a solid portion, a reversibly compressible portion, a channel and a sound attenuating element positioned inside the channel for attenuating sound being transmitted to the ear. In one embodiment, the ear tip piece is asymmetrical due to a bend.

  • Publication number: 20140146534
Abstract: A light emitting diode (LED) lamp includes a holding assembly, at least one LED and a heat pipe. The holding assembly includes a thermal-conductive base and at least one fixing component connected to the thermal-conductive base. The LED is mounted on one side of the thermal-conductive base. The heat pipe is inserted in the fixing component, such that a passageway is formed and communicating with an inside of the heat pipe. As this result, a plurality of airflow passages are formed on the thermal-conductive base, and the LED lamp can achieve good thermal-conductive efficiency.

  • Patent number: 8180083
Abstract: The present invention relates to a novel protective cover for over-the-ear or behind-the-ear hearing aid devices, wherein the protective cover is resistant to infiltration of moisture, corrosive elements, and/or dirt or debris. Furthermore, in at least one embodiment, the protective cover comprises a flexible material that offers a formed fit over the hearing aid device, and includes at least one slit within the flexible material such that the protective cover may be readily flipped up to allow access to portions of the over-the-ear or behind-the-ear hearing aid device upon which it is placed without significant effort by the user.
