  • Patent number: 12129061
Abstract: A lid for a vacuum sealing device may include a housing that supports a sealing station. The housing may define a sealing surface with a sealing perimeter that is able to seal against a canister body when the sealing surface is located on the canister body so that the sealing surface and the canister body together define a sealed volume. The sealing station is supported by the housing and extends from the housing. The sealing station is configured to heat seal an open bag, the sealing station being located within the sealing perimeter of the sealing surface such that when the lid is located onto the canister body, the sealing station is disposed within the sealed volume. The lid may have an internal pump for vacuum sealing operations or may receive a vacuum from an external source.

  • Publication number: 20240262551
Abstract: A storage bag for particular use with home based vacuum heat sealing devices includes adjacent compartments separated by a frangible seam. A first compartment may store substantially dry foodstuffs such as meat, and/or crunchy items. A second adjacent compartment may store a liquid marinade, sauce of similar flavoring. The openings for each compartment may be provided on opposite edges of the bag so that each compartment may be independently heat sealed using a vacuum sealing device. The first compartment may additionally be evacuated. The sealed bag may be stored until ready for consumption, at which time the internal frangible seam may be broken to allow mixing of the two compartments.

  • Publication number: 20240262599
Abstract: A storage bag for particular use with home based vacuum heat sealing devices includes nested bags. An outer bag may store substantially dry foodstuffs such as meat, and/or crunchy items. A smaller bag, pouch or sachet may store a liquid marinade, sauce or similar flavoring. The smaller bag may be sealed and then sealed within the outer bag which be vacuum sealed. Channels may be embossed into the bag layers of the outer bag to facilitate evacuation of the outer bag by the vacuum sealing device prior to heat sealing. The smaller inner bag may include a frangible outer seam that can be manipulated through the outer bag to cause the seam to rupture, thereby allowing the contents of the inner bag to mix with the contents of the outer bag, e.g. to cause a meat product to marinate prior to consumption.

A first compartment may store substantially dry foodstuffs such as meat, and/or crunchy items. A second adjacent compartment may store a liquid marinade, sauce or similar flavoring. Each compartment may feature an opening for filling the respective compartment. The openings may be provided on a common edge such that heat sealing by a vacuum sealing device may be simultaneously performed in a single sealing operation. Channels may be embossed into the bag layers of the first compartment to facilitate evacuation of the first compartment by the vacuum sealing device prior to heat sealing. The sealed bag may be stored until required for consumption, at which time the internal frangible seam may be broken to allow mixing of the two compartments.

  • Patent number: 7863865
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention include techniques for charging a battery. In one embodiment, the present invention includes a method comprising determining if a maximum current output of a power source is above a threshold, configuring a regulator coupled to the power source, wherein the regulator is configured in a pass mode if the maximum current output is above the threshold, and wherein the regulator is configured in a regulation mode if the maximum current output is below the threshold, and generating pulses to a battery, wherein an output of the regulator is coupled to the battery when a pulse is being generated, and the output of the regulator is decoupled from the battery when a pulse is not being generated. In other embodiments, the techniques may be embodied in a circuit including a detection circuit and a switching regulator coupled to a battery through a pulse circuit.

  • Publication number: 20100108671
Abstract: A pressure relief system including a container having (a) at least two layers sealed together to form a closed cavity and (b) a stress point area is disclosed. The stress point area is configured to rupture upon sufficient pressure being generated in the closed cavity so that venting of pressurized contents of the container cavity may occur without explosive bursting of the container.

  • Publication number: 20080304771
Abstract: A plastic storage bag has a storage area that is resealably closed by a zipper. The zipper is provided in a passage way that extends from an opening of the bag to the storage area. The zipper extends between first and second edge seams of the storage bag. Wider edge seams are provided in the passage way, particularly at the interface between the passage way and the zipper. The wider edge seams protect the edges of the bag and the edges of the zipper when opening the zipper.
