  • Publication number: 20230197430
Abstract: A multi-atomic object crystal is transported from a first leg to a second leg of an atomic object confinement apparatus through a corresponding junction. Voltage sources in electrical communication with electrodes of the apparatus are controlled to confine the crystal in the first leg. The voltage sources are controlled to cause transport of the crystal along the first leg to proximate the junction and then to cause generation of a time-dependent potential at the junction that is configured to cause the crystal to traverse a transport path through the junction from the first leg to the second leg via a dynamic potential well. An order of atomic objects within the multi-atomic object crystal is changed as the multi-atomic object crystal traverses the transport path.

The voltage sources are controlled to cause transport of the crystal along the first leg to proximate the junction and then to cause generation of a time-dependent potential at the junction that is configured to cause the crystal to traverse a transport path through the junction from the first leg to the second leg via a dynamic potential well defining a particular variable axial frequency. The transport path is determined by combining a path of constant total confinement for a representative atomic object of the crystal and a path of radio frequency minimum for the representative atomic object, using a particular variable path ratio.

  • Patent number: 10089416
Abstract: An additive manufacturing process for building a three-dimensional part, which includes applying a layer of one or more powder-based metals onto or over a substrate, selectively melting and/or sintering the powder-based metals to produce a layer of the three-dimensional part, and repeating these steps such that the built three-dimensional part includes one or more self-supporting internal passageways, and which preferably precludes the need for internal support structures for the internal passageways.

  • Patent number: 10086861
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for restraining the movement of a wheeled transport apparatus using a restraining device. The restraining device may include an elongated frame component having an upstanding rear portion and a base portion. The base portion is configured to be secured to a floor surface. A loading member may be provided, located adjacent the elongated frame component. The loading member defines a ramp surface to guide a rotational movement of a wheel of the wheeled transport apparatus into a receiving space. In certain aspects, the elongated frame component comprises an angle iron defining a length and having a substantially uniform L-shaped cross-section. The device may further include a locking member pivotally coupled to the elongated frame component and configured to retainingly engage a structural component of the wheeled transport apparatus.

  • Patent number: 9869169
Abstract: A method for recovering hydrocarbons from an underground formation having a first exploited or partially exploited region and a second less exploited region in at least partial fluid communication with said first region. Electrical heating means is provided in the first region, and electrical energy supplied to the first region to raise or sustain its pressure to mitigate the loss of fluids and pressure from the second region due to hydraulic interaction with the first region. The electric heating affects the pressure by thermal expansion of the liquids and vapors present in or added to the first region and/or flashing of those liquids to vapors. The use of electric means is advantageous over the prior art by allowing for the redirection of injection fluids to more active regions of exploitation, and allows for more timely reclamation of the equipment and surface area above the first region.

  • Publication number: 20160186540
Abstract: A method for improving injectivity conformance of a hydrocarbon bearing heterogeneous subterranean formation by reducing the variance in water saturation throughout the formation, as a means of improving recovery when steam injection is later applied. A solvent plunger is developed by incremental injections of solvent followed by periods of arrest to permit the solvent to mix with the oil in the areas of relatively high water saturation thereby creating a plunger to uniformly displace the water in the formation to achieve water injectivity conformance along the well.

  • Publication number: 20150167436
Abstract: A method for recovering hydrocarbons from an underground formation having a first exploited or partially exploited region of a hydrocarbon-containing formation and a second less exploited hydrocarbon-containing region in fluid communication or in partial fluid communication with said first region. Electrical heating means is provided in the first region, and electrical energy supplied to the first region to raise or sustain its pressure to mitigate the loss of fluids and pressure from the second region due to hydraulic interaction with the first region.
