  • Publication number: 20240069798
Abstract: A system for use in an aerospace environment includes an array of storage drives each comprising a non-radiation-hardened drive controller, a non-radiation-hardened, non-volatile, storage medium, and a non-radiation-hardened volatile memory. The system includes a radiation-tolerant storage controller coupled to the array. The storage controller provides failure-resistant data redundancy among the storage drives of the array. The system includes a bus host that accesses the array via the storage controller. The storage controller implements security logic and a root-of-trust that provides to the bus host verification of authenticity of the radiation tolerant storage controller and the storage drives.

  • Patent number: 7352780
Abstract: A method and system for providing signaling byte resiliency across a telecommunications network. Embodiments of the invention create copies of original signaling bytes and transports the copies in addition to the original signaling bytes. Testing is performed at each node in the network to determine the validity of the original signaling bytes, i.e. if the signaling bytes have been corrupted. If original signaling bytes are found invalid, then the copies of the signaling bytes are used as a valid replacement for the corrupted signaling bytes.

  • Publication number: 20070253549
Abstract: An encryption apparatus and method for providing an encrypted file system are provided. The encryption apparatus and method of the illustrative embodiments uses a combination of encryption methodologies so as to reduce the amount of decryption and re-encryption that is necessary to a file in the Encrypted File System in the event that the file needs to be modified. The encryption methodologies are interleaved, or alternated, with regard to each block of plaintext. In one illustrative embodiment, Plaintext Block Chaining (PBC) and Cipher Block Chaining (CBC) encryption methodologies are alternated for encrypting a sequence of blocks of data. The encryption of a block of plaintext is dependent upon the plaintext or a cipher generated for the plaintext of a previous block of data in the sequence of blocks of data so that the encryption is more secure than known Electronic Code Book encryption methodologies.
