    Abstract: The high speed rotary cutters of a machine for automatically severing whole poultry bodies into separate portions are provided with nozzles which direct jets of cold water against the major areas of both surfaces of the cutters to increase their efficiency, and an enclosure which confines the water thrown off from the cutters is provided with a grid which prevents the severed portions from coming into contact with the water being removed from the enclosure.
