  • Publication number: 20190232879
Abstract: A collapsible storage compartment includes an inner bin with an inner side wall and an inner base wall. The inner side wall is connected to a periphery of the inner base wall to define a cavity. The collapsible storage compartment further includes an outer bin connected to the inner bin. The outer bin includes an outer base wall and a flexible hinge. The flexible hinge is movably connected to the outer base wall and is configured to move the outer base wall between a stowed position and a deployed position, wherein at least a portion of the hinge flexes into the cavity to move the outer base wall toward the inner base wall when the outer base wall is moved from the deployed position to the stowed position.

  • Patent number: 10173599
Abstract: An adjustable device placement system of a vehicle includes a center console bin of an armrest. A separator wall within the center console bin divides the center console bin into a first section and a second section. An aperture has notches spaced vertically along the aperture. A position mechanism is disposed within the aperture. The position mechanism includes c-channels formed along lateral sides of the position mechanism and receives sides of the separator wall that define the aperture. The position mechanism remains in direct contact with the separator wall as the position mechanism slides vertically within the aperture. The position mechanism includes tabs that extend perpendicularly away from the separator wall and teeth that enter the notches, thereby locking the position mechanism into a position. A bottom portion extends a predetermined distance away from the separator wall and toward a front wall of the center console bin.

  • Patent number: 5536125
Abstract: A fastening assembly for securing plastic panels (50) to metallic substrates (52) is provided in which a metallic nut (14) is mounted in snap-fit relationship on plastic insert (12), which is in turn engaged in snap-fit relationship on the metallic substrate (52). The nut (14) slidably engages the plastic insert (12) to permit certain movement along an axis perpendicular to the axis of the insert (12) to provide thermal compensation for the mounted plastic panel (50). The nut (14) itself utilizes the same guide lug structure (26) of the insert member (12) to both effect snap-fit retention of the nut (14) on the insert (12) and to guide the sliding movement of the nut (14) with respect to the insert (12).

  • Patent number: 5199740
Abstract: A device (20) for inflating an air bag (37) comprising: a pressure vessel (34) formed by a vessel part (22) and a generator body assembly (30). The generator body assembly is received within opposing openings (24, 26) in the vessel part (22) and secured thereto to provide a gas tight seal (28). The generator body assembly (30) includes: a first bore (38) to receive a quantity of propellant (150) and initiator assembly (120) to cause the propellant (150) to burn in response to a control signal indicative of a vehicle crash. Various passages are provided in the gas generator assembly and oriented to permit the products of combustion of the burning propellant to impinge on inner walls of the pressure vessel to reduce particulate emission.
