  • Patent number: 5839627
Abstract: A reclosable pour spout for containers which have been filled with a liquid is mounted on the container without the necessity of making an opening in the container to hold the spout or obtain access to the contents of the container. The spout acts to preserve the integrity of the liquid contents of the container. The reclosable pour spout has an inner membrane seal formed in the bottom of the pour spout. The bottom surface of the membrane seal is attached to the container. The container may have a scored portion in the area of the membrane seal to allow the scored portion of the container to become firmly attached to the membrane seal and come out of the container with the membrane seal when the membrane seal is removed from the spout to gain access to the liquid contents of the container.
