  • Patent number: 7090429
Abstract: A highway delineation marker fabricated of two thin, resilient, elongated panels, U-shaped in cross section, secured together open-face to open-face, capturing a foam core. The lower end of the rear panel is captured behind a tab on the front panel for ease of insertion and the front panel includes two or more outwardly projecting tabs for interaction with a mating insertion tool for placement of the delineator marker into a pilot hole.

  • Patent number: 5376199
Abstract: A composite filament reinforced clevis includes a pair of apertured ends and a central hub area with a pair of clevis arms extending between the hub area and the apertured ends. The clevis is fabricated by winding reinforcing filaments around a pair of end mandrels and toward the central hub area. The end mandrels and the filaments wound thereon are rotated relative to the central hub area to a collinear orientation. The reinforcing filaments are cured with a bonding matrix while in the rotated orientation.

  • Patent number: 4995591
Abstract: In a chain link fencing employing slats inserted vertically through adjacent links into an open channel which is inserted horizontally through the lowermost or uppermost course of links, a means of locking the slats to the channel to prevent easy removal of the slats from the fencing. Each slat is manufactured with a notch near one end thereof, and the channel is manufactured with a continuous barb along each free edge, one of which will engage the notch on the slat when the slat is inserted perpendicularly into the channel. For ease of assembly, the end of each slat nearest the notch is beveled.

  • Patent number: 4369894
Abstract: A filament wound pressure vessel is disclosed and has a spherical shape including a polar opening with a fitting disposed in the opening and protruding therefrom. A plurality of layers of filaments are wound about the polar fitting. Each layer comprises a sequence of polar winding patterns wound with incrementally increasing wind angles away from the polar fitting, creating voids at the junctures of adjacent patterns near the polar fitting and thus between sequential layers at said junctures. One or more annular fill doilies are installed in annular regions about the polar fitting to fill the voids between the layers at the junctures of adjacent winding patterns. The doilies are circular in configuration with a central opening for installation concentric with the polar opening.

  • Patent number: 4360116
Abstract: A liquid or gaseous impervious barrier is disclosed for use in composite structures, such as pressure vessels or the like, which include a juncture at which a first filament wound laminate meets a second member, such as a second laminate or a fixed boss or fitting. The juncture is capable of separating upon flexing of the first and second laminates or members. The barrier includes a flexible member disposed between the first and second laminates at the juncture thereof, with the barrier member being sealed, as by bonding, to the first and second laminates to prevent moisture penetration about the barrier member. The barrier member is split from the exterior thereof partially therethrough to accommodate any separation at the juncture due to flexing of the first and second laminates. A folded film sheet is disposed in the split in the barrier member to prevent the split portions thereof from adhering to each other.

  • Patent number: 4084914
Abstract: A self-erecting highway guide post for insertion in the ground is constructed in the form of a resilient plastic channel having a substantially flat center surface flanked on either side by a pair of flat side portions which are joined at an obtuse angle to the center portion by curved surfaces. A second, arcuately cross-sectioned channel is attached by fasteners through the center portions of each channel to the rear of the first channel. The rear, concave surface of the arcuate channel is directed toward the rear surface of the first channel and lies within its side portions. Such a configuration results in a self-erecting highway guide post when one end is imbedded in the ground to denote the margin of a highway. When the post is struck the curved portions flatten allowing the post to bend when run over by a vehicle and to recurve once the vehicle passes to re-erect the post.
