  • Patent number: 9154386
Abstract: In certain embodiments, a method for monitoring, alerting and remediation of systems is provided. The method provides for receiving data from one or more data sources and logging the data. A first metadata fingerprint is created for a particular data source. The first metadata fingerprint is indicative of a first quantity of data output for the particular data source. A second metadata fingerprint is created for the same data source. The second metadata fingerprint is indicative of a second quantity of data output for the data source. The second metadata fingerprint is created from data received at a different point in time from the first metadata fingerprint. The first metadata fingerprint is compared with the second metadata fingerprint associated with the particular data source. An alert is generated when the comparison indicates that the first metadata fingerprint does not correspond within a specified tolerance to the second metadata fingerprint.

  • Patent number: 8880174
Abstract: A diagnostic method and predictor of prognosis from various therapeutic treatments is provided using discriminant analysis statistics. In one form, a patient is identified as having a disease using discriminant analysis when one or more values of a physiological parameter of the patient is closer to that of a previously characterized group of individuals having a disease and the patient is diagnosed as not having the disease, or healthy, if the value of a patient's parameter is closer to that of individuals previously characterized as healthy, or not having the disease. For example, the parameters can be based on the autonomic and/or enteric nervous system. Advantageously, the present method can be readily adapted using conventional linear discriminant analysis statistics to factor more than one parameter between a patient and one or more previously classified groups, to thereby enhance predictability and reliability of the present method.

  • Patent number: 8280635
Abstract: Data about operation of a well for extracting a product from the subterranean reservoir and at least one of a characteristic of a subterranean reservoir or operation of a processing and transport system upstream of a point of sale is received. A corrective action can be automatically initiated on at least one of the well or the processing and transport system in response to a difference between the received data and a specified operational objective. • Patent number: 8260751
Abstract: In certain embodiments, a method for log file time sequence stamping is provided. The method includes connecting to a console port of one or more data sources and receiving data from the data sources. The data may be logged with both an independent time stamp and a sequence indicator. • Patent number: 7698796
Abstract: A universal mounting plate for replacing a plurality of different door closers with a new door closer, the plate having a substantially flat rectangular body of a material thickness. A plurality of holes are formed through the material thickness and arranged in a plurality of patterns that correspond to the mounting hole patterns of a plurality of different door closers. The mounting plate can be attached to the door through existing mounting holes and the replacement closer attached to the mounting plate. The existing holes in the door are used to mount the plate and the plate is employed to mount the replacement closer, eliminating the need to drill new holes in the door and patching the old holes.

  • Patent number: 7152812
Abstract: The present invention comprises a walk behind zero turn radius drive unit and a front spray frame carrying a plurality of transversely spaced, clearly observable spray nozzles. The drive unit permits accurate and high productivity traverse of the application area with the ability to steer around obstacles and accurately traverse an irregular edging pattern. The spray frame includes a pair of folding spray arms, each of which carried dispensing nozzles. Another set of nozzles is positioned at the sides of the frame. All the nozzles are within the forward lateral view of the operator permitting ready steering of the drive unit around the borders of the application area. The nozzles are supplied with liquid from a frame mounted tank by an electric pump powered by the drive unit. The spray nozzles are controlled by an operator valve positioned adjacent the drive unit control, thereby allowing operator to control the application during travel.

  • Patent number: 6047221
Abstract: A method for modeling a steady-state network in the absence of steady-state historical data. A steady-state neural network can be tied by impressing the dynamics of the system onto the input data during the training operation by first determining the dynamics in a local region of the input space, this providing a set of dynamic training data. This dynamic training data is then utilized to train a dynamic model, gain thereof then set equal to unity such that the dynamic model is now valid over the entire input space. This is a linear model, and the historical data over the entire input space is then processed through this model prior to input to the neural network during training thereof to remove the dynamic component from the data, leaving the steady-state component for the purpose of training. This provides a valid model in the presence of historical data that has a large content of dynamic behavior.

  • Patent number: 4253148
Abstract: An industrial control system in accordance with the present invention is provided with a plurality of diverse controlled devices (e.g., fans, pumps, valves, solenoids, relays, etc.) for effecting overall system control. Each device has a unique set of logic control functions and/or command sequences and is connected, through an input/output interface, to a stored-program single board computer that provides device control and monitoring. The computers each include a central processor controlled by a composite or "master" program which is common to all the computers and which includes instruction sequences for all logic control functions and command sequences that exist within the system. A user alterable interconnection device (UAID) permits only those logic control function and/or command sequence portions of the master program that relate to a particular one of the controlled devices to operatively connect with the particular input/output ports associated with that controlled device.
