    Abstract: A trash compactor apparatus including a tubular support structure on which is mounted a cylinder assembly which may be pressurized with water such as from a municipal water system. A piston of the cylinder assembly carries a compaction foot for compressing waste within an open receptacle. Elastic tubing functions to retract the piston in the absence of cylinder pressure. The tubing may be mounted in a detachable manner.
