Publication number: 20250032069Abstract: A radiation shield assembly is described, configured to block radiation emanating from a radiation source from reaching a user. Two shields are supported by a support arm, and are configured to rotate and translate relative to one another about the support arm's longitudinal axis. This allows the shield to be easily configured and reconfigured as necessary to visualize various parts of a patient's body via radiography.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 8, 2024Publication date: January 30, 2025Inventors: Robert Evans FOSTER, Lloyd Guyton Bowers COOPER, William Thomas LIVINGSTON, Foster D. Patent number: 10720960Abstract: A system and method for transmitting a digital signal comprising includes a random number generator for generating a pseudorandom code. A scheduler stores a plurality of signal sequences each matching a set of bandwidth-time products and center frequencies with a stored code. The scheduler selects a signal sequence by matching the pseudorandom code with one of the stored codes. The scheduler selects a bandwidth-time product and center frequency based on the selected signal sequence. A baseband processing unit generates the digital signal based on a selected bandwidth-time product and center frequency. A front end processing and beamforming unit broadcasts the digital signal.Type: GrantFiled: July 1, 2019Date of Patent: July 21, 2020Assignee: Raytheon CompanyInventors: Theodore Mark Kellum, William D. Phillips

Patent number: 8655882Abstract: A system for ontology candidate selection and comparison including a microprocessor and an ontology candidate selection component executing on the microprocessor and configured to compare at least a portion of a plurality of ontology candidates based on a candidate selection rule, and based on said comparison, select from the plurality of ontology candidates a pair of ontologies. The system further includes an ontology similarity component coupled to the ontology candidate selection component and configured to generate a similarity outcome related to the pair of ontologies based on a similarity rule and evaluate at least one of: the candidate selection rule or the similarity rule based on the similarity outcome.Type: GrantFiled: August 31, 2011Date of Patent: February 18, 2014Assignee: Raytheon CompanyInventors: Donald R. Kretz, William D. Phillips, Bruce E. Peoples, Justin W. Toennies

Patent number: 4229259Abstract: An improved grid sleeve bulge tool designed for securing control rod guide tubes to sleeves brazed in a fuel assembly grid. The tool includes a cylinder having an outer diameter less than the internal diameter of the control rod guide tubes. The walls of the cylinder are cut in an axial direction along its length to provide several flexible tines or ligaments. These tines are similar to a fork except they are spaced in a circumferential direction. The end of each alternate tine is equipped with a semispherical projection which extends radially outwardly from the tine surface. A ram or plunger of generally cylindrical configuration and about the same length as the cylinder is designed to fit in and move axially of the cylinder and thereby force the tined projections outwardly when the ram is pulled into the cylinder. The ram surface includes axially extending grooves and plane surfaces which are complimentary to the inner surfaces formed on the tines on the cylinder.Type: GrantFiled: October 10, 1978Date of Patent: October 21, 1980Assignee: Westinghouse Electric Corp.Inventors: Ronald E. Vaill, William D. Phillips
