  • Patent number: 5839932
Abstract: A buoyant aquatic life-saving assembly including a portable waist belt having a plurality of storage pouches in which rescue gear is stored and from which the gear may be released during emergencies. At least one storage pouch houses an inflatable life belt designed to encircle an individual during water rescue and which incorporates a lift harness and a second pouch contains a throw line adapted to allow both fixed anchoring of the rescue gear or casting of the inflatable life belt. In a preferred embodiment, one or more storage pouches are on the buoyant waist encircling belt for storing additional rescue equipment.

  • Patent number: 5348504
Abstract: An inflatable lifesaving belt for use in water rescues which includes a central portion and enlarged outer end portions which are joined using opposing fastening elements. One or more handles are provided along the central portion of the belt for engagement by a rescuer and, when inflated, the end portions of the belt create a greater degree of buoyancy than the central portion in order to promote face-up floatation of an individual being assisted.

  • Patent number: 5328352
Abstract: A sprue and valve assembly (22) delivers a curable liquid material to a mold cavity (26) and thereafter is easily cleaned of the cured residual core (52) remaining from the liquid material. A sprue (34) having a flow passage (36) extends between the exterior surface of a mold (24) and a runner (30) in the mold (24). A valve body (54) is connected to the exterior face of the sprue (34). A coin slide type closure element (56) within the valve body (54) is controlled by a lever mechanism to selectively open or close the flow passage (36) to the curable liquid material flow. The flow passage (36) is tapered to permit easy removal of the cured residual core (52). PTFE seals (74) are disposed on opposite sides of the closure element (56). A bayonet fitting permits quick connection and disconnection of a supply line (18) to the valve body (54).

  • Patent number: 4446564
Abstract: A phase locked loop frequency synthesizer circuit for utilization in a broadband RF modem including a computer controlled transmit and receive function for use in the intertransmission of data on a local network comprising a plurality of the modems. According to the invention, a single phase locked loop frequency synthesizer circuit may be employed to establish both the transmit and receive frequencies, in addition to a method for the intertransmission of data between modems, in which data may be transmitted or received in a synchronous or asynchronous format on a local network.
