Publication number: 20080199108Abstract: A fitment for a liquid containing pouch wherein the fitment is attached to the top portion of the pouch by sealing the top portion of the pouch together and to the sealing portion of the fitment. The fitment having a straw therein and a removeable cap for sealing the liquid in the pouch. The cap can be removed to allow access to the straw and the liquid in the pouch. The cap ban be replaced on the fitment to reseal the pouch. Since the straw is already in the fitment it is easier to use than liquid containing pouches where the straw has to be inserted into the pouch by breaking a seal. Further the straw in the fitment helps prevent spills and injuries associated with straws having to break the seal of the pouch.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 22, 2006Publication date: August 21, 2008Applicant: WFCP, LLCInventor: William D. Patent number: 6931824Abstract: A method of filling a flexible pouch having a base and sidewalls extending from the base to define a mouth. The method comprising the steps of delivering the pouches an infeed conveyor to a predetermined orientation and transporting the pouches in a controlled manner toward a filler station, and transferring the pouches from the infeed conveyor to a transport conveyor in which the pouch is gripped adjacent to the mouth so as to be suspended from the transport conveyor. Opening the mouth of the pouch to permit filling at the filling station passing the pouches through the filler station, closing the mouth and sealing the mouth prior to release from the transport conveyor.Type: GrantFiled: December 26, 2002Date of Patent: August 23, 2005Assignee: AMEC E&C Services, Inc.Inventor: William D. Publication number: 20030232682Abstract: The Automatic Variable Ratio Differential is a multi-purpose device which represents a substantial improvement over current vehicle differential technology. Its primary use is as an improved vehicle differential, allowing the driving wheels to rotate at different speeds when the vehicle is turning. The improvement over the standard differential becomes evident when one of the driving wheels is slipping due to mud or ice; then, the AVRD uses a true mechanical ratio to channel the available torque to the driving wheel with traction, thereby preventing the vehicle from becoming stuck. This device is much more efficient, durable, and powerful than the conventional friction driven limited-slip differentials currently available. In many configurations, the device can also improve the maneuverability and turning-radius of a vehicle by allowing the inside wheel in a turn to rotate in reverse while the outside wheel rotates forward.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 14, 2003Publication date: December 18, 2003Inventors: William D. Rogers, Richard D. Rogers

Patent number: 5531692Abstract: A safety syringe including a generally cylindrical needle body having first and second opposite ends, the first end being open, a needle member extending from the second end of the needle body, a plunger having a central bore and piston secured to an end of the plunger, the plunger and piston being inserted through the first end of the needle body, the piston sealingly engaging an inner surface of the needle body, a stylette having a sharp point, the stylette extending through the needle member, penetrating through and frictionally engaging the piston and extending into the central bore of the plunger, wherein the sharp point of the stylette is normally retracted into the needle member to prevent needle-stick injuries, and extends from the needle member upon applying a biasing force to the piston by depressing the plunger, whereby frictional engagement between the piston and the stylette forces the sharp point to be exposed from the needle member.Type: GrantFiled: October 6, 1994Date of Patent: July 2, 1996Inventor: William D. Patent number: 5436543Abstract: There is disclosed a device for the duplication of irregular shapes that must be reproduced on a surface but cannot be traced directly on the surface. The device includes a stylus, a length of chain or the like attached to the stylus, and a duplicator attached to the other end of the chain. The duplicator contains a programmable memory, such as a RAM chip, and servo-type motor to vary the length of the chain as the program is run.Type: GrantFiled: December 28, 1993Date of Patent: July 25, 1995Inventor: William D. Rogers

Patent number: 5431678Abstract: A surgical sewing needle, including a generally arcuate needle body having a first end for receiving suture material and a second end which forms a sharp point, the needle body being flexible between closed and open positions, the first end protecting the second end in the closed position to prevent the sharp point from unintentional punctures, the needle body being biased such that the first and second ends are separated from each other in the open position to facilitate suturing.Type: GrantFiled: October 6, 1994Date of Patent: July 11, 1995Inventor: William D. Rogers
