A method for making the paper machine fabric leader is also disclosed.

Abstract: There is provided an industrial fabric comprising a layer of batt of fibres optionally needled to a base cloth, whereby during manufacture of the fabric a dispersion of particulate, polymeric material has been applied to the layer of batt of fibres and thermally activated to provide a discontinuous layer containing a mixture of batt fibres and a polymer-baft fibre matrix.

Abstract: A system and method of for creating a multilayered laminated fabric having a single seam. The system includes a top base layer having a seam and a roll side base layer having a first end and a second end arranged in a non-contacting manner to form a gap. The method includes joining a top base layer and a roll side base layer together and seaming the top base layer, wherein a gap is formed in the roll side base layer.

Abstract: A press felt comprises a base fabric, optionally with a batt of fibrous material needled thereto. The base fabric is woven endless, having upper and lower layers of weft yarns and first and second sets of warp yarns. The first set of warp yarns interweaves with at least the upper layer of wefts and the second set of warp yarns interweaves with at least the lower set of wefts. At least some of the first set of warps at least occasionally interweave with the lower wefts and at least some of the second set of warps at least occasionally interweaves with the upper wefts.

Abstract: A press felt comprises a base fabric, optionally with a batt of fibrous material needled thereto. The base fabric is woven endless, having upper and lower layers of weft yarns and first and second sets of warp yarns. The first set of warp yarns interweaves with at least the upper layer of wefts and the second set of warp yarns interweaves with at least the lower set of wefts. At least some of the first set of warps at least occasionally interweave with the lower wefts and at least some of the second set of warps at least occasionally interweaves with the upper wefts.

Abstract: A fabric seam n a fabric for use as papermachine clothing, the seam being formed by interdigitated loops (14) at each of the fabrics ends (10, 12) and interconnection thereof with a pintle wire (20) in order to make the fabric endless. The seam having at least one low melt stuffer yarn (24) in gap (22) adjacent the pintle, which stuffer yarn has been heat set. The seam may also comprise a batt layer needled to the seam region, which batt layer has been needled before heat setting of the low melt stuffer yarn. The low melt stuffer improves the homogeneity of the seam region.
