Abstract: A tie arrangement (10) comprising a housing (12) with a passage (16), an engagement part (22) and an elongate member (14), the free end of the elongate member (14) being extendable through the passage (16), the engagement part (22) and a locking member (18) being arranged inside the passage (16) for locking the elongate member (14) inside the passage (16), such that if said elongate member (14) is pulled, this causes the engagement part (22) to move together with the elongate member (14), which causes clamping of the elongate member (14) between the engagement part (22) and the passage walls (16) by virtue of the decreasing size of the passage (16), thereby preventing further movement of the elongate member (14).

Abstract: A bath lift comprising a U shaped frame (14) locatable on the bath. Each side limb (15) of the frame (14) mounts a respective roller (32) between which a flexible band (38) extends. The rollers (32) are interconnected to simultaneously feed the band (38) out or in whereby to raise or lower a person sitting thereon into a bath.

Abstract: A cover assembly (10) for a pick-up type of vehicle (28). The assembly comprises a frame (12) and spring urging arrangements (32) extending downwardly from the sides of the frame (12) to each side of the vehicle. A flexible cover member extends over the frame (12) and arrangements (32). The cover member (24) is selectively rollable onto or off rollers (22, 52) such that the height of the assembly (10) automatically raises or lowers as a result of the amount of cover member (24) unrolled and by virtue of the spring urging arrangements (32) maintaining the cover member (24) taut.

Abstract: Apparatus 10 for moving a person into and out of a bath 12. The apparatus comprising a seat 48 mounted by pivotal linkages 38 and 62. The seat 48 can be raised using a ram 56. The linkages 38,62 are arranged such that when the seat 48 is raised beyond a particular height the seat 48 tilts rearwardly whereby to raise the legs of a person on the seat 48 to permit same to be pivotted over the side of a bath without the requirement of lifting the seat 48 far above the bath.

Abstract: A support arrangement (12) for mounting an awning or similar on a wall (14). The arrangement (12) includes a first elongate member (18) one end of which is pivotally mountable on the wall (14). The other end of the member (18) pivotally mounts a shorter second member (28). A third elongate member (32) is provided slidably mounted to the second member (28) and lockable to the first member (18) when in a parallel relationship therewith. The end of the member (32) away from the member (18) is pivotally mountable to an awning (10). By virtue of the respective sliding, pivotting and locking of the members (18,28,32), the arrangement (12) can adopt a collapsed position with the members (18,28,32) lying against each other such that the awning (10) can lie against the wall (14), or an erect condition with the members (18,28,32) in alignment and adjustable in length to provide for different inclinations of the awning (10).
