  • Publication number: 20110143866
Abstract: A computer program product and method for generating an audio file and a method of training a golfer using the audio file on how to make a golf swing with a golf club and strike a golf ball through synchronization of golf club movement with an audio analog model of a preferred tempo-consistent golf swing comprising a pre-shot training sequence, a continuous backswing audio signal that models the backswing velocity of a clubhead, a continuous downswing to impact audio signal that models the downswing velocity of the clubhead, an impact audio signal that provides an indication to the golfer of when the peak clubhead speed should occur, and a followthrough audio signal that models the velocity of the clubhead from impact to the finish of the followthrough. In addition, a process for generating an audio file and a method of training a golfer using the audio file on how to make a putting stroke with a putter is included.

  • Patent number: 7727081
Abstract: An apparatus for indicating the proper pendulum putting stroke to a golfer with An elongated display device that is positioned on a floor parallel to the stroke path of the practicing golfer, A display device containing multiple microcontroller module sections, each containing visual indicators spaced uniformly along the length of the sections, Each section being responsive to commands from a peripheral computing device to turn on a specific visual indicator, a peripheral computing device such as a personal computer running a computer program which calculates the putting stroke based on desired distance, green speed, and the golfer's personal rhythm rate in beats per minute, A peripheral computing device that after calculating the putting stroke time-position data, commands the display device to turn on and off consecutive visual indicators at a predefined time in such a way as to display a putting stroke path, and show the golfer the proper time-space dynamics to strike a golf ball a desired distance.

  • Patent number: 7255649
Abstract: A golf putting training device is provided which allows a golfer to practice distance control in a confined area by displaying an estimate of how far a golf ball would have traveled on a green having a selected stimp value after being struck with a putter and subsequently colliding with a target strike plate of the training device. The golf putting training device includes a housing and rear stabilization plate, a target strike plate, a doppler microwave speed sensor, an impact sensor, a green speed selector, a distance display, an audible beeper, and a microcontroller which calculates the putting distance based on the measurement of the speed of the rolling golf ball prior to impact and the stimp setting selected. An audible beeper provides an indication of the rolling progress of the simulated roll of the golf ball past the target strike plate.
