  • Patent number: 4720198
Abstract: A precision, low cost bearing for connecting the ends of two hinge links to one another for relative pivoting, the adjacent end portions of the links being formed with housings each having a socket. A spindle fixed rigidly within one of the sockets is telescoped into the other of the sockets and is formed with a taper which mates with a taper formed in the closed end portion of the latter socket. A bushing is telescoped over the spindle and into the socket and is formed with a tapered hole which mates with a second taper on the spindle. The two sets of mating tapers coact to enable the spindle to turn in the bushing with a close but free running fit in spite of diametrical and axial dimensional differences between the socket, the spindle and the bushing.

  • Patent number: 4716622
Abstract: The door member of a self-closing hinge includes a cup which is concealed within a pocket formed in the inner side of a door. A curl on the frame member of the hinge pivotally receives a hinge pin which is carried by the cup. To effect the self-closing action, a leaf spring is mounted on the outer side of the end wall of the cup and includes a tongue which extends through an opening in the end wall and into resilient bearing engagement with the curl.

  • Patent number: 4692964
Abstract: A fully concealed, self-closing hinge for mounting a cabinet door to open through an angle of about 175 degrees on a cabinet frame, the hinge having only two pivoted links and three pivot axes. One link is connected to pivot relative to the door about one axis, the other link is connected to pivot relative to the frame about a second axis, and the two links are connected together to pivot relative to one another about the third axis. All three axes intersect one another at a common point on the hinge axis of the door in all positions of the door and constrain the door to swing in an arc about the hinge axis while enabling wide-angle opening of the door.

  • Patent number: 4653818
Abstract: Dry food storage containers of various sizes are supported by hanger plates which form part of a rack adapted to be slid into and out of a cabinet. When the rack is slid out of the cabinet, the containers may be laterally removed from or laterally inserted into the rack without interference from the cabinet.

  • Patent number: 4639051
Abstract: Upper and lower shelves are supported on a rotatable post in a cabinet to turn outwardly about the axis of the post from a stored position to an accessible position, the lower shelf being turned out automatically when the door of the cabinet is opened. The lower shelf is mounted to turn relative to the post while the upper shelf is mounted to turn with the post so as to enable the lower shelf to turn outwardly independently of the upper shelf and to enable the use of a simple lower bearing element for rotatably supporting both the post and the lower shelf.

  • Patent number: 4627672
Abstract: A rack formed by a window-like framework is adapted to support various holders for organizing articles in a cabinet and is adapted to be pulled from a stored position in the cabinet to an accessible position in which substantially the entire rack is disposed completely outside the cabinet. The rack is carried by a bottom-supported mounting assembly having pivoted arms which collapse toward one another as the rack is moved inwardly to its stored position and expand away from one another to form a double-triangular bracing structure as the rack is pulled outwardly to its accessible position. The arms coact with guide rollers on the bottom of the cabinet to hold the rack stable in each of its positions without need of any top support for the rack. One of the holders which is supported by the rack is a wire-grid book shelf equipped with an adjustable bookend which is held by the grids of the shelf.

  • Patent number: 4616940
Abstract: A vertical post is rotatably mounted in a corner cabinet and supports a plurality of rotatable shelves which carry the cabinet door. The lower end of the post is rotatably supported by a lower bearing element which rests on a bearing member on the bottom wall of the cabinet. To enable the post and the door to be adjusted vertically, the lower bearing element is a slide supported for up and down movement in the post and having a downwardly inclined ramp on its upper end. A downwardly inclined screw extends perpendicular to the ramp and may be tightened and loosened to shift the slide downwardly and upwardly relative to the post. The head of the screw is sunk within the post to enable the shelves to be slipped onto the lower end of the post during assembly and to enable one of the shelves to pass upwardly by the location of the screw.

  • Patent number: 4587908
Abstract: Two vertically spaced shelves with pie-shaped cut outs are rotatably supported on a fixed post in a corner cabinet. Each shelf is rotatably mounted on the post by an anti-friction bearing assembly comprising a rotatable bearing member attached to the shelf and a fixed bearing member attached to the post. To enable the pie-shaped cut out of the shelf to be located in a predetermined angular home position relative to the cabinet door, a detent mechanism is incorporated in the bearing assembly. The detent mechanism includes a cage carried by the rotatable bearing member and supporting a detent ball which snaps into a detent notch in the fixed bearing member to hold the shelf releasably in its home position.

  • Patent number: 4302948
Abstract: A refrigerated display case having at least two outlet air conduits with a unitary grid member covering the outlet openings of such conduits. The display case is formed by a cabinet having an interior display space for holding refrigerated products. A primary air conduit encircles the cabinet and has an outlet opening at one end adjacent to an access opening in the cabinet and an inlet opening at its other end adjacent to the access opening. The inlet and outlet openings of the primary air conduit are aligned so that air leaving the outlet opening is directed across the access opening of the cabinet and received by the inlet opening. A set of evaporator coils are arranged within the primary air conduit for refrigerating the air passing through such conduits. The air is circulated through the primary air conduit by a set of fans. A secondary air conduit extends along the cabinet and is positioned outside of the primary air conduit.
