Patent number: 7858887Abstract: A broadband over power line housing which allows coupling between power lines and a broadband signal system. Cables enter and exit from a first housing portion. Connection circuitry is housed in a second housing unit selectively connectable to the first housing unit. A latch provides the selective connection, and includes three positions: a first latched position wherein the circuitry within the first and second housing units is electrically connected; a second latched position wherein the circuitry is disconnected; and a disconnected position where the first and second housing portions can be separated from one another. In one embodiment, the latch is operated with a hook stick between the first and second positions, allowing an operator to engage or disengage the circuitry from the ground. A visual indicator may be provided to indicate to the operator when the housing is in the latched and electrically disconnected state.Type: GrantFiled: August 28, 2008Date of Patent: December 28, 2010Assignee: ADC GmbHInventors: Brent David Allwood, Wayne William Dennes

Publication number: 20100022144Abstract: The invention relates to a connector block (11) for separating insulated conductors of a first data cable (82) and a second data cable (86), said connector block containing: first and second groups (12A, 14A) of a plurality of slits (16) arranged in a row along a common side of the connector block; and a plurality of insulation displacement contacts comprising forked contact sections (21, 23) which at least partially extend into respective individual slits in order to electrically separate the insulated conductors. The groups of slits are separated by an insulation space (22) in order to reduce alien crosstalk between the conductors of the first data cable (82), which are coupled to the insulation displacement contacts of the first group of slits (12A), and the conductors of the second data cable (86), which are coupled to the insulation displacement contacts of the second group of slits (14A).Type: ApplicationFiled: July 18, 2007Publication date: January 28, 2010Applicant: ADC GmbHInventor: Wayne William Dennes

Publication number: 20060144193Abstract: Stabilized or partially stabilized zirconia paste may be screen printed onto hydrophilic plastic film in the form of a mesh. On firing, this becomes a very sharp foil for electric razors with excellent wear and flexibility characteristics. Stabilized or partially stabilized zirconia may also be screen printed onto a wettable plastic film then fired to produce low cost razor blades with an excellent edge. A curved razor blade incorporating an array of holes, each of which has a knife edge periphery, offers greater cutting power and control of the skin surface than a single or double edge.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 1, 2003Publication date: July 6, 2006Applicant: Battery Company, Inc.Inventor: William Denne

Patent number: 4875214Abstract: The X-ray laser exploits the violent collapse of a bubble (11) in liquid (9) to produce an intense concentration of energy, as a piston (1) is compressed violently into a cylinder (2). X-rays from this source are used to produce a population inversion within the bubble wall. This can then give rise to X-ray laser emission approximately parallel to the bubble wall, through a window (12).Type: GrantFiled: June 2, 1987Date of Patent: October 17, 1989Inventor: William Denne
