  • Publication number: 20110280649
Abstract: A connector for use in a construction joint including a first plate having respective first and second ends, and a first slit extending from the first end to a predetermined depth on the first plate, and a second plate having respective first and second ends, and a second slit extending from the second end of the second plate to a predetermined depth on the second plate. When assembled, the first and second plates intersect through the first and second slits such that the connector has a cross-section that is, at least in part, generally cruciform-shaped. The connector may also include a bearing plate. The first plate further includes a bearing plate slit formed between an end of the first slit and the second end of the first plate, and extending generally perpendicular to the first slit, such that the bearing plate slit is adapted to receive the bearing plate. The bearing plate is positioned such that the second end of the second plate abuts against the bearing plate when assembled.
