    Abstract: A mirror system including a flat non-magnifying mirror and an inset magnifying mirror provides an installation that is aesthetically pleasing and has reduced susceptibility to damage, for installation in locations such as hotel rooms and hotel bathrooms. The magnifying mirror is inset in an aperture defined by the larger non-magnifying mirror and is either fixed in place by bonding to the edges of the aperture or using a backer, or is extendable from an extension arm that is recessed in a box that extends into a wall behind the mirror system when installed. The extension arm may be a swing arm, a telescoping arm or a scissor arm that is fastened to the back or a side of the box.
