  • Patent number: 7984127
Abstract: A method and system for distributing data from one or more main data sources to one or more consumer nodes. An abstract data matrix layer is provided between a producer layer and a consumer layer. A producer node multicasts data updates to selected data matrix nodes in the data matrix layer, and a consumer node registers with the data matrix layer to receive designated data updates. One or more data matrix nodes then serve the requested data updates on the requesting consumer node.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 8, 2003
Date of Patent: July 19, 2011
    Assignee: Sprint Spectrum L.P.
Inventors: William Douskalis, Debashis Haldar, Jesse Money, Arun Santharam

  • Patent number: 6731738
Abstract: A communication hub for providing call tones in a communication network proximate the calling device. The communication hub comprises an interface coupled to a processor and a tone generator. The tone generator is configured to generate call tones. The processor is configured to process an in-band call tone request message to direct the tone generator to provide the call tones to a call device. The interface is configured to receive the call tone request message and provide the call tones to the call device.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 28, 2000
Date of Patent: May 4, 2004
    Assignee: Sprint Communications Company, L.P.
Inventors: Chaoxin Charles Qiu, Shannon P. Silvus, Richard N. Kennedy, Michael J. Gettles, William Douskalis
  • Patent number: 6728362
Abstract: A communication hub for providing continuity testing and call tones in communication networks. The communication hub comprises a processor coupled to an interface and a tone generator. The processor is configured to process an in-band call tone request message to generate a continuity acknowledgment message and to direct the tone generator to provide call tones to a call device. The tone generator is configured to generate the call tones for the processor. The interface is configured to receive the call tone request message and transmit the continuity acknowledgment message and the call tones for the processor.

  • Patent number: 4885741
Abstract: Modems, data service units, application modules and other data communication devices, installed in a common equipment cabinet, are interconnected by way of a time division multiplexed bus. Time slots assigned to the various devices recur at a number of rigidly-spaced access periods across each time division multiplex frame. The rate at which the access periods occur and the total number of access periods that make up each frame are chosen in such a way as to accomodate a mix of devices having respective bus access rates wherein there is at least one pair of rates for which neither rate of the pair is a multiple of the other. The process of allocating access periods to the time slots is carried out using a known lemma to identify linear Diophantine equation solutions.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 3, 1988
Date of Patent: December 5, 1989
Assignees: American Telephone and Telegraph Company, AT&T Information Systems Inc.

The process of allocating access periods to the time slots is carried out using a known lemma to identify linear Diophantine equation solutions.
