Abstract: A rod-shaped fluorescent UV light bulb affixed to a socket comprises an ultraviolet (UV) air sanitizing fixture for commercial aircraft, public transit, or heavy equipment. Electric power is provided by the vehicle electrical system. The fixture is installed by insertion into a small circular aperture which has been cut or drilled into the sheet metal of the air circulation ductwork of the vehicle, and securing the socket to the sheet metal.

Abstract: An apparatus for a modular fire-barrier system and a method for designing a fire-barrier system for specific applications. The fire-barrier system or structure comprises a plurality of fire-barrier modules, two or more support columns and one or more girts. Each of the fire-barrier modules comprises a frame which supports one or more fire-rated panels. The fire-rated panels comprise a single skin material having a thickness based on the desired fire rating for the application of the fire-barrier system. According to another aspect, a process or method is provided for designing a fire-barrier system or structure based on operational specifications including height and span, and environmental parameters, such as expected wind loads and/or potential seismic activity.

Abstract: An access panel assembly for providing access to a duct through an opening in the duct. The access panel assembly comprises a sealing member, a cover member and fasteners. The sealing member fits around the opening in the duct and the cover member fits over the sealing member and coupled to the duct by the fasteners. The cover member may comprise a fire resistant panel and is formable to the shape of the duct thereby allowing the access panel assembly to be fitted to irregular shaped ducts or openings in the ducts. The access panel assembly allows easy and ready access to the interior of ducts or other air handling equipment to permit the inspection and cleansing of the interior surfaces and other interior components of any contaminants.

Abstract: A duct system comprising duct sections which are factory manufactured and field modifiable. The field modifiable duct system comprises fire resistant materials and is fire-rated. The duct sections when assembled create a continuous conduit that allows air to flow from a fresh air source to the required area of the building.
