Abstract: A check valve for a fluid administration system. A connector includes a housing, and first and second conduits defined by the housing, wherein the first conduit is in fluid communication with the second conduit. A check valve is disposed within the housing and includes a first body portion defining a first passageway for fluid flow, and a second body portion defining a second passageway for fluid flow. The first and second passageways are in fluid communication with one another and the second body portion is movable relative to the first body portion between first and a second positions. When the second body portion is in the first position, fluid flow may occur in a first direction, but not in a second direction substantially opposite to the first direction. When the second body portion is in the second position, fluid flow may occur in the second direction.

Abstract: A syringe for injecting a fluid, such as a contrast medium for radiological diagnostic imaging, is enhanced by hydrophilic treatment of interior surfaces of the syringe, reducing air bubble attachment to the syringe. Air bubbles that do form or that are drawn into the syringe fail to attach to, or readily release from, the interior surface and can be expelled prior to being used on a patient.

The wound dressing product is comprised of several layers including a wound dressing, optional removable tab and optional release liner. The wound dressing comprises a thin-film layer, an adhesive layer, porous backing layer, optional support layer and a hydrogel material. The thin-film layer has a center portion and a perimeter portion. The backing layer, support layer and hydrogel material, which together form a reinforced hydrogel patch, are positioned in the center portion of the thin-film layer. The porous backing layer is formed of a porous material having sufficient porosity that the backing layer can be secured to the hydrogel material without the use of an adhesive. During manufacture, the hydrogel patch is assembled in sheet form and subsequently cut to a desired size and shape.

The wound dressing comprises a transparent thin-film layer, a first adhesive layer, backing layer, second adhesive layer, support layer and a hydrogel material. The transparent layer has a center portion and a perimeter portion. The backing layer, support layer and hydrogel material, which together form a reinforced hydrogel patch, are positioned in the center portion of the transparent layer.
