  • Patent number: 10028811
Abstract: The system includes a reservoir for fluid; a droplet generator for creating a stream of fluid droplets from the fluid wherein the velocity of the stream of droplets is within a range of 20 meters per second to 200 meters per second and the size of the droplets is within a range of 5 microns to 200 microns. A nozzle or nozzles direct the stream of droplets to safely clean a selected tooth or teeth surface area. The specific momentum of effective fluid droplets within the stream of fluid droplets is important in safe and effective cleaning.

  • Publication number: 20150264853
Abstract: A hand-held powered shovel (10) that is comprised of a handle (12) having a rear end (14), a front end (16) and an outer surface (18). A motor enclosure (22) is attached on the handle (12), and is comprised of a first section (24) and a second section (26). Located within the motor enclosure (22) is a motor (50), which is actuated by a power switch (52) that is located on the handle (12). Extending downward from the handle (12) is a shovel head (40), which is attached to the motor (50). When the power switch (52) is actuated, power from the motor (50) causes the shovel head (40) to move in a reciprocating motion.

  • Patent number: 8194076
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for displaying a strip chart on an electronic display. A furthest extremum value of the measured quantity is recorded over a period of time and a plurality of values of the measured quantity are displayed on the strip chart. The furthest extremum value is used to automatically rescale the strip chart, providing for at least one bound of the zoomed range. In response to receiving a selection of a zoom factor defining a degree of magnification of the strip chart, the strip chart is automatically scaled to a degree of magnification commensurate with the zoom factor and the strip chart may be automatically scaled such that the strip chart is bounded on one side by one of a furthest extremum maximum or minimum value and the other one of the furthest extremum maximum or minimum value is not displayed on the strip chart.

  • Patent number: 7979938
Abstract: The drive system drives a brushhead at a driving frequency. The drive system includes a frequency modulation system which changes. the driving frequency about a center frequency in such a manner, with selected frequency deviation and modulation frequency, which interacts with the resonance of the brushhead to produce a change of amplitude in the movement of the brushhead within a range of 5-30%.

  • Patent number: 5549711
Abstract: A prosthetic foot having a keel formed by a flexible sole plate connected to the lower end of an ankle portion that is attachable to a user's leg or leg prosthesis. A plurality of resilient bending ribs extend from the angle portion to spaced apart locations on the upper surface of the sole plate to resiliently bias the sole plate to a neutral configuration. As the forward portion of the sole plate is progressively loaded, the sole plate flexes causing the bending ribs to deflect until they successively stack up against each other, thereby progressively stiffening the keel.

  • Patent number: 5464442
Abstract: A prosthetic support pylon is disclosed that is comprised of a tubular inner member being deformable along its longitudinal axis and comprised of a material having a composite stiffness value of between about 30,000 pounds.multidot.inch.sup.2 and about 200,000 pounds.multidot.inch.sup.2 and a tubular outer member over the tubular inner portion. The tubular outer member is comprised of a dampening material which slows the release of the energy produced by the tubular inner member upon return from deformation along its longitudinal axis. The material of the tubular inner member is comprised of a support matrix and of stiffening fibers which are most preferably selected from a group consisting of carbon, graphite, fiberglass, ultra high molecular weight polyethylene and aramid. The support matrix of the tubular inner member is most preferably selected from the group consisting of epoxy, vinyl ester and polyester.

  • Patent number: 4555807
Abstract: An improvement to a baseband system having a plurality of down converters feeding a single baseband receiver for assuring the same mean time to intercept while maximizing the probability of intercept as a multi-band, autonomous receiver. All channels of the converter unit are operated simultaneously and a unique tag is added to the output signal from each of the down converters whereby the signal can be identified by the balance of the system as to its associated converter. In one embodiment, the tag comprises an amplitude notch appearing on the output signal at a different time following the receiver threshold being exceeded. In a second embodiment, the tag comprises a frequency step added to and/or subtracted from each output signal at the same time following the exceeding of the receiver threshold. In a third embodiment, the tag comprises a phase shift applied to the output signal.
