  • Patent number: 4102494
Abstract: An air conditioning system for conditioning the air in a plurality of enclosed areas in a building. Conditioned air at a temperature level which may be varied is supplied to a first terminal for discharge into an area. Conditioned air at a relatively constant temperature level is delivered to a second terminal for discharge into the area. The quantity of constant temperature air discharged into the area is regulated in accordance with the temperature level therein. The quantity of the variable temperature air stream discharged into the area is regulated in accordance with the quantity of constant temperature air discharged into the area.

  • Patent number: 4058692
Abstract: A distributor breaker contact spacing mechanism for a distributor of an internal combustion engine. The mechanism includes an oscillatory breaker arm having a contact point and a cam follower, the cam follower being resiliently urged toward an engine-operated cam. Rotation of the cam provides a reciprocatory movement to the breaker arm thereby sequentially making and breaking the contact between the movable contact and a stationary contact. A spacing block is mounted upon the movable arm and accommodates the establishment of the appropriate gap distance that the movable contact point moves away from the stationary contact point in response to rotation of the cam. The spacing block substantially eliminates adjustment of the spacing gap between the contact points upon installation of the breaker point assembly in the distributor.

  • Patent number: 4014381
Abstract: An air conditioning system for conditioning air in a plurality of enclosed areas in a building. Conditioned air at a temperature level which may be varied is supplied to first terminal means for discharge into an area. Conditioned air at a relatively constant temperature level is delivered to second terminal means for discharge into the area. The quantity of constant temperature air discharged into the area is regulated in accordance with the temperature level therein. When the temperature of the variable temperature air supply is at a relatively warm level, the quantity thereof discharged into the area is regulated in accordance with the quantity of constant temperature air discharged into the area. As the quantity of constant temperature air discharged into the room is increased, the quantity of warm air discharged into the room is decreased; and as the quantity of constant temperature air discharged into the room is decreased, the quantity of warm air discharged into the room is increased.

  • Patent number: 3985487
Abstract: A method for manufacturing an oil seal element from polytetrafluoroethylene and the like. A tubular billet of polytetrafluoroethylene or the like is provided with inner and outer cylindrical surfaces approximating the desired diameter, and an end wall is faced off perpendicular to the cylindrical surfaces. A series of washers of a desired thickness is then sliced from the billet. In one form of the invention, each washer may next be cut to exactly the desired inner and outer diameter, and, simultaneously, spiral grooves or other hydrodynamic shapes may be formed on one face of each washer, leading from the inner periphery of each washer for a desired distance toward the outer periphery; this may be done by using a novel blank-pierce-coining die that both trims the seal and coins the groove between a pair of metal surfaces at very heavy pressure to permanently deform the material in these surfaces.

  • Patent number: 3956602
Abstract: A pre-gapped breaker point assembly for a distributor of an internal combustion engine, the assembly having spacing blocks which are configured to pre-position the breaker contact points of the assembly at a correct spatial separation during placement of the breaker point assembly in the distributor of an internal combustion engine. The spacing blocks substantially eliminate subsequent adjustment of the contact points by suitably orienting the breaker point assembly with respect to the cam in the distributor.

  • Patent number: 3939551
Abstract: A method for manufacturing an oil seal element from polytetrafluoroethylene and the like. A tubular billet of polytetrafluoroethylene or the like is provided with an outer cylindrical surface of the desired diameter and an inner cylindrical surface approximating but slightly smaller than the desired diameter, and an end wall is faced off perpendicular to the cylindrical surfaces. A series of washers of a desired thickness is then sliced from the billet. The flat washer is then first assembled with a metal case and then a desired hydrodynamic shape, such as a spiral groove, is coined in. Preferably, the inner pierce is completed at this time. Each washer may then be formed under pressure to permanently deform the radially inner portion thereof to a frustoconical shape. The assembled seal may be held on a shaft-size mandrel during application of a coating to the metal case.
