    Abstract: A battery jumper cable assembly (15) including a pair of solenoids (100,200) connected to provide an interlock preventing the direct connection of two batteries (10,20) in series with each other by means of such cable assembly is disclosed. The operation of the cable assembly under various operating conditions is described. The essential features of the solenoids and the interconnection of alternate types of switch elements in the cable assembly are disclosed.
