    Abstract: A carbon-based gas extraction and storage system is described that includes a coal bed methane (CBM) energy production facility. A first well includes a first pump configured operate in an extraction mode in which methane from the CBM chamber is pumped from a CBM chamber, and convertible to an insertion mode in which CO2 is pumped into the CBM chamber. The second well extracts CBM from the CBM chamber. A controller controls the first pump to operate in the extraction mode and controllably switch to the insertion mode in which CO2 emissions from CBM processed by the CBM energy production facility are injected in the CBM chamber. Thus, first pump injects the CO2 emissions into the CBM chamber to assist in extraction of CBM and to permanently store the CO2 in the CBM chamber.

    Abstract: Absorbent articles containing both an acidic buffering agent and a non-toxic, non-irritating, non-volatile antimicrobial agent are disclosed. The acidic buffering agent is preferably also an absorbent gelling agent which can imbibe aqueous body fluids in addition to acting as a buffer. Such articles are especially suitable for maintaining the pH of urine and feces discharged into the article at value below about 7.5. This in turn helps to prevent or reduce diaper rash and control odor caused by the production of ammonia.

    Abstract: A universal module serves as the basis for creating a plurality of different embodiments of electrical display stations. The universal module is adapted to be connected to remotely located process control instrumentation from which it may receive and to which it may transmit analog and digital signals. The different embodiments are created by connecting to the universal module a selected combination of components such as status indicators, switches and signal adjusting devices. The universal module includes a micro-processor system having a central processing unit, a clock circuit and a non-volatile type of program storage unit with an address provided for each different embodiment. An embodiment selector provides the interconnection between the components connected to an embodiment and the circuits of the universal module and activates the address for the embodiment.

    Abstract: An electrostatic reproduction machine has a belt assembly having a plurality of rollers for supporting and moving an endless photoconductive belt around a closed path. A tracking apparatus is used to detect and correct lateral movement of the belt as it moves around the rollers, and to return the belt to its normal course, the apparatus including (1) a sensing member for sensing the lateral movement of the belt as the latter moves around a first of the rollers, (2) structure for connecting the sensing member to a second of the rollers, the second roller being mounted to rotate about an axis in response to lateral movement of the belt to cause the belt to return to its normal course, and (3) a resilient member connected to both the connecting structure and stationary frame structure. The resilient member supports the entire weight of the sensing member and connecting structure, and causes the sensing member to return to its initial position after being displaced by lateral movement of the belt.

    Abstract: A control system for one or more vacuum holddown devices for use in an apparatus employing flexible web material in a flattened condition. A plurality of perforated plenums are joined to a manifold connectible to a vacuum producing means. The pressure within the manifold is sensed and must be at a predetermined pressure before the drive system for the web material is activated thereby preventing bulging or buckling of the web material during startup and normal running of the material.
