  • Patent number: 4384908
Abstract: Disclosed is the apparatus and method for cutting a desired length of strip webbing, and for shouldering and sealing the severed edges of the cut webbing with a non-raveling finished edge. The cutting is effected by the cutting blade on one of two dies constrained to relative translatory movement. Heat and pressure applied by the flat surfaces of the dies shoulders the edges of the cut webbing. A heated lateral groove on a die seals the flashing of the severed edge and results in a non-raveling finished edge.
