The machine also has a user panel which has an opening that lies transverse to the slot. A document carrier is described which rotates documents around two different axes as it carries them between the slot and the opening to allow passage of the documents through both.

    Abstract: A replaceable font module for a printer includes an interrogable storage containing information representing graphic patterns and is connected to cooperate with a printer upon insertion within a corresponding receptacle. The module and receptacle are configured to allow insertion without intense operator attention by virtue of a camming surface on the module that cooperates with a hook-like latch of the receptacle to provide an undulating but positive latching motion in response to a simple operator insertion motion. As a part of the latching motion, a wiping action to assure a high quality contact with conductor pads on the module that provide a transfer point for the communication path to the storage.

    Abstract: Apparatus for rapidly lining a container with a box-like array of discrete lining panels includes a panel-grasping mechanism maintaining a vacuum grip on the panels until the array is deposited in the container. A method for safely and rapidly operating the apparatus automatically in accordance with a prescribed program of interrelated steps is disclosed. The method provides for immediate interruption of the apparatus movements in event of a malfunction and after correction of the malfunction for resumption of apparatus movement from the point in the cycle at which the interruption occurred.
