  • Patent number: 5709284
Abstract: A device for lubricating bearings and the like including a housing for containing a lubricant, and a movable piston adapted to be inserted into the housing in contact with said lubricant. The piston includes an upper concave surface, for communication of the lubricant with a bearing to be lubricated, and a passage for flow of lubricant. Compression of the piston against the lubricant causes flow of lubricant from below the piston to above the piston. An adapter, or volume-filling means, is disposed on the upper piston surface for filing a portion of a volume defined between the upper, concave piston surface and the wheel bearing. The volume-filling means includes lubricant flow passages for allowing lubricant to flow from said upper concave piston surface to the wheel bearing.

  • Patent number: 5562000
Abstract: A tool for reshaping or expanding metal tubular material includes an expandable mandrel having a plurality of duplicate spreader segments held in a cluster by an elastic O-ring about a wedge-shaped cam, each of the segments including an external, curved wall having a curvature corresponding to a curvature of an external curved wall in every other segment such that when all segments are equally spaced a predetermined amount, they form a cylinder having gaps between adjacent spreader segments for contact against an internal surface of the tubular material for reshaping or expanding said tubular material. The wedge-shaped cam includes a plurality of external faces corresponding to a number of internal spreader segment faces sloped to converge toward a front, mandrel-insertion or forward end of the cam and shaped complementary to the shape of the internal spreader segment faces for sliding engagement of the segments over an adjacent external face of the cam.

  • Patent number: 4211446
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a tool for pulling and removing annular or ring-shaped seals from an automobile transmission housing or the like. The overall tool includes an elongated main section having a first end and a second end, with a bifurcated fitting of special design mounted at a second end. The novel fitting includes a pair of spaced apart projections, and a pivotal member mounted therebetween. The pivotal member has a first end which includes a hook structure and is mounted for pivotal movement between the bifurcated fitting projections at a pivot point intermediate the ends thereof.
