  • Patent number: 12161013
Abstract: The present disclosure provides an article including a layer having a nanostructured first surface including nanofeatures and an opposing second surface, and an organic layer including a major surface attached to a portion of the nanofeatures. The nanostructured first surface includes protruding features that are formed of a single composition and/or recessed features. The nanofeatures and the major surface of the second layer together define at least one void. The present disclosure also provides a method of making the article including contacting nanofeatures of a layer having a nanostructured surface with a major surface of an organic layer and reacting at least one material to secure the two layers together. In addition, the present disclosure provides an optical information display and an OLED device including the article. The nanostructured surface of the article is protected from damage and contamination by the organic layer.

  • Publication number: 20240341702
Abstract: A medical imaging system for detecting ionizing radiation. The system includes one or more pixilated imagers positioned to acquire patient image data and one or more position sensors positioned to acquire patient position data. Once the patient image data and patient position data are acquired, one or more processors operably connected to each of the one or more pixilated imagers and one or more position sensors calculate a three-dimensional mass distribution based on patient image data and patient position data.

  • Patent number: 5593600
Abstract: A method of recovering and converting organic waste material into more useful products. More specifically the organic waste is slurried with water, passed through hydrocyclones for desanding and desalting, then dewatered through a mechanical press. The dewatered, desalted solids can be used as soil ammnedment, peat substitute, growing media, fertilizer carrier, fuel for co-gen plants, or composted. The water may be reused for slurry, irrigation, or discarded.

  • Patent number: 5464160
Abstract: An improved method for processing of xanthophyll-containing vegetative crops to yield a relatively xanthophyll rich high protein, essentially non-fibrous friable when dry particulate fraction primarily derived from non-vascular plant leaf or petal tissue, and a separate tougher, particulate fibrous fraction derived principally from plant stem and the leaf vascular xylem and phloem network. A system (20) which is useful for carrying out a preferred method includes a drying assembly (22) for drying crop to a moisture content of 15-30% by weight, a fractionating hammermill (24) to separate crop into a high protein xanthophyll-containing fraction and a high fiber fraction, and individual, downstream high protein and high fiber fraction processing assemblies (26, 28). The hammermill (24) includes an elongated housing (48); a rotor assembly (56) is situated within the housing (48) and includes a plurality of spaced outwardly extending hammers (86) each presenting a rounded leading impact surface (88).

  • Patent number: 4232014
Abstract: Aminoalkylindans of the formula ##STR1## wherein A represents an alkylene group having 2 to 5 carbons in a straight chain, R.sub.1 represents a lower alkyl having 1 to 3 carbons or is a lower alkoxy having 1 to 3 carbons, B represents --CH.sub.2 -- or ##STR2## and R.sub.2 represents phenyl or phenyl-lower alkyl and the phenyl group in such substituents is unsubstituted or is substituted with 1 to 3 lower alkoxy groups, and acid addition salts of the amines. The compounds have hypotensive activity.
