  • Patent number: 8424956
Abstract: A wheel cover or panel assembly for use on a long haul truck is provided. These wheel covers can provide enhanced aerodynamic effects to a truck or other vehicle thereby reducing wind drag and enhancing fuel efficiency. Still further, the wheel covers can articulate or turn along with the steering by design.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 1, 2011
Date of Patent: April 23, 2013
    Assignee: CVG Management Corporation
    Inventor: William E. Stimel
  • Patent number: 8424132
Abstract: A retractable bunk or bed is disclosed. The retractable bunk can be used in a sleeper compartment so as to optimize space within the cab. The innovation can include a shaft around which a suitably strong, yet flexible, material bunk can be wound. Thus, in a closed or “hidden” state, the material can be rolled up around the shaft and stowed, for example behind a door or within a compartment as desired. In an open position, the material is extended in a horizontal manner and affixed to retain the “bunk” position.

  • Publication number: 20120056428
Abstract: Systems and methods of capturing and channeling air through a wind turbine mounted atop a truck (or vehicle roof) are disclosed. The air can be channeled through a specially designed truck roof into an inlet of a wind turbine. In other aspects, ductwork can be used to channel and direct air captured while the truck is in motion. The wind turbine can be a traditional propeller-based turbine. In other aspects, air foil technologies can be employed to increase air flow to and through a turbine.
