Patent number: 12253892Abstract: Package lids with carveouts configured for processor connection and alignment are described. Lid carveouts are configured to align and mechanically secure a cooling device to the package lid by receiving protrusions of the cooling device. Because the lid carveouts ensure precise alignment and orientation of a cooling device relative to a package lid, the lid design enables targeted cooling of discrete portions of the lid. Lid carveouts are further configured to expose one or more connectors disposed on a surface that supports package internal components. When contacted by corresponding connectors of a cooling device, the lid carveouts enable direct connections between the package and the attached cooling device. By creating a direct connection between package components and an attached cooling device, the lid carveouts enable a high-speed connection for proactive and on-demand cooling actuation.Type: GrantFiled: March 25, 2022Date of Patent: March 18, 2025Assignee: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.Inventors: Jerry Anton Ahrens, William Robert Alverson, Amitabh Mehra, Grant Evan Ley, Anil Harwani, Joshua Taylor Knight

Patent number: 12242844Abstract: Determining correct base container images to support custom container images is provided. A comparison between layers of a base container image corresponding to a current version of an operand and layers of a custom container image built by a user is performed using an operator. It is determined whether the user utilized a correct base container image to build the custom container image based on the comparison between the layers of the base container image corresponding to the current version of the operand and the layers of the custom container image built by the user. A runtime is generated in a cluster of host nodes to provide a service based on the custom container image in response to determining that the user utilized the correct base container image to build the custom container image.Type: GrantFiled: July 27, 2023Date of Patent: March 4, 2025Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Martin A. Patent number: 12237940Abstract: Systems and methods for usage-based device naming and grouping are disclosed. For example, trigger events that indicate when a device should be renamed, added to a device group, and/or added to a routine may be determined. Usage data representing usage of the device may be received and utilized to determine if a trigger event occurs. When a trigger event occurs, a recommendation for renaming, grouping, etc. may be determined and sent to a user device. Upon acceptance of the recommendation, the device may be renamed, grouped, and/or added to a routine.Type: GrantFiled: September 29, 2023Date of Patent: February 25, 2025Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Aniruddha Basak, Yu Liu, George Strajan, Hersh Sridhar Iyer, Sara Parker Hillenmeyer, William Evan Welbourne

Patent number: 12228900Abstract: Systems and methods for activity-based device recommendations are disclosed. For example, historical usage data associated with a device may indicate that the device is likely to be associated with a given state at a given time. When the device is not in the anticipated state, a recommendation to transition the device state, for example, may be sent. Additionally, a determination of the activity state associated with the device, such as an active state, an asleep state, and/or an away state may be utilized to determine the recommendation to surface, to determine whether to send a recommendation, and when and/or how to send the recommendation.Type: GrantFiled: September 6, 2023Date of Patent: February 18, 2025Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Charles Edwin Ashton Brett, William Evan Welbourne, Hongyang Wang, Akshay Kumar, George Strajan
