  • Patent number: 4577809
Abstract: A gathering and storing device for electric extension cords and comprising a frame providing a handle member at the upper end to be grasped by the user and a foot bar to be located on the ground and stood on by the user to stabilize the cord gathering device during use. A rotatable reel has a handle which is rotated to gather the cord. A slack adjuster is located adjacent the handle and includes a pressure plate to which the user's fingers are applied to provide a slight pressure to insure that the cord is gathered onto the reel in a neat and orderly fashion. The pressure plate has finger members which guide the cord and prevent it from slipping off the pressure plate. A locking ring is attached about the frame and can be placed about a portion of the reel to insure the reel does not move during storage.

  • Patent number: 4286196
Abstract: A control circuit and method is provided to automatically cut out a dimmer circuit from a high intensity light source until the light source has first been triggered and turned on at a high intensity level with the required high voltage. After an initial high illumination occurs a dimmer control circuit is electronically cut into the light circuit and a dimmer control knob, connected with a potentiometer, may then be used to raise or lower the illumination of the high intensity lamp. Thus, the high intensity lamp will be turned on regardless of the position of the dimmer control. Without the control circuit, the high intensity lamp would not trigger if the control knob was at a low intensity setting.

  • Patent number: 4155452
Abstract: A surgical accessory equipment housing having mounting pads at the lower corners which permit stacking of a plurality of such housings by serving as a non-slip support for the bottom housing and as an interlocked spacer between the stacked housings. Each pad has a right angular foot which engages the upper corner of a subjacent housing with spacer ribs disposed between the housings. The bottom housing rests on a flat surface, supported by the four feet of its mounting pads.

  • Patent number: 3935405
Abstract: A mouth held switch assembly which is adapted to be connected to an electrically actuated surgical implement. The switch assembly is designed to be operated only by a clamping movement of the front incisors of the user. The switch assembly includes an elongated, thin walled, L-shaped, tubular housing, one end of which fits into the mouth of the user. A pair of electrical contacts formed on spaced blades are sealed in the leg of the housing which is insertable in the user's mouth. The contacts are connected to electrical leads extending out of one end of the housing. A portion of the housing is weakened adjacent the contacts with the weakened portion being protected by guards which permit only the incisor teeth of the user to contact the weakened portion of the housing, when the housing is inserted in the user's mouth. When the user bits down on the weakened portion of housing, the contacts are closed, thereby actuating the surgical implement.
