  • Patent number: 5233554
Abstract: An optical correlation system employing the degenerate four wave mixing uses cross-polarized pump and probe beams to prevent the writing of a volume transmission phase hologram in a photorefractive crystal having an applied electric field parallel to the optic axis of the system, so that system response does not depend on the time required to write or erase such a transmission hologram.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 10, 1990
Date of Patent: August 3, 1993
    Assignee: United Technologies Corporation
Inventors: William F. Conley, John H. Mitchell
  • Patent number: 5166507
Abstract: A lider countermeasure receives an interrogating laser beam and returns a beam having a distorted phase point such that the interrogating system generates a false angular portion for the returned radiation. The false phase front is achieved by independent manipulations of the amplitude and phase of the returned signal.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 31, 1992
Date of Patent: November 24, 1992
    Assignee: United Technologies Corporation
Inventors: Dennis W. Davis, William F. Conley, Donald J. Link
  • Patent number: 4682640
Abstract: A closed torus tire may be inflated by means of a circumferential conduit located at the interface of the tire and a rim. The closed inflation chamber of the closed torus tire communicates with the circumferential conduit via an air inlet passageway through the annular base region of the tire's carcass. An inflation valve passageway through the rim also communicates with the circumferential conduit to provide an air conduit means for inflating the closed torus tire.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: July 28, 1987
Assignee: The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company
Inventors: Robert E. Berger, Richard L. Crossman, William F. Conley
