  • Patent number: 9999161
Abstract: An electronic device includes a chassis having a recess and a fan assembly captured by the recess, wherein the fan assembly is moveable out of the recess to rotate such that airflow through the fan assembly moves in different directions to cool the electronic device as a function of such rotation.
    Type: Grant

  • Publication number: 20160183402
Abstract: An electrical device can include a printed circuit board (PCB), an electrical component integrated therewith, and connectors that are each integrated with a certain edge of the PCB. Traces can provide electrical channels between the connectors and the electrical component. Some of the connectors can be integrated at a first edge of the PCB and within a first plane, and other connectors can be integrated at a second edge of the PCB and within a second plane that is distinct from the first plane.

  • Patent number: 7907414
Abstract: A network device including a module. A chassis supports the module. A lever is secured to an enclosure of the module by a pivot. In one embodiment a pivot axis of the lever is parallel to a major axis of the module. In another embodiment the enclosure includes a clearance through which a portion of a lever from an adjacent module may pass. In another embodiment the lever includes a handle portion and a claw portion. A portion of the handle defines a first plane, the claw defines a second plane, and the first and second planes are parallel and spaced from one another. In another embodiment at least part of the claw portion protrudes outward from an envelope of the module enclosure.

  • Publication number: 20020093799
Abstract: An add-in card includes a substantially planar printed circuit (“PCB”) and a bracket. The bracket includes tabs that extend through slots in the PCB and that are twisted to clamp the PCB and bracket together. Opposing sides or corners of a web coupled to each tab contact opposing sidewalls of the corresponding slot to position and fasten the structure in an interference fit. Thus, the fasteners accurately and repeatably position the PCB relative to the bracket within tight tolerances. An embodiment of the bracket may also include an anti-rotation member that extends outwardly from the body portion to restrain an edge of the PCB from rolling relative to the bracket in response to tightening of the tabs. A method and apparatus for positioning the components and actuating the tabs is also disclosed.
