  • Patent number: 10519832
Abstract: A decomposition tube for an exhaust treatment system includes a housing with a housing wall that defines an exhaust flow path for exhaust; a reductant delivery mechanism coupled to the housing and having a nozzle configured to deliver a spray of reductant into the exhaust flow path; and a mesh device with a mounting element mounted on the housing wall and a mesh basket secured to the mounting element proximate to the nozzle to enclose and intercept the spray such that effectively all of the reductant passes through the mesh basket and into the exhaust flow path prior to impinging on the housing wall.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 27, 2016
Date of Patent: December 31, 2019
    Assignee: DEERE & COMPANY
Inventors: William F. Gavin, Nathan A. Bovee, Marc J. Andvik
  • Patent number: 9945278
Abstract: A power system including a selective reduction catalyst and an exhaust gas mixer positioned downstream thereof. The exhaust gas mixer includes an inlet opening a plurality of peripheral inlet openings and a plurality of swirler guides. The inlet opening is positioned to receive a first portion of exhaust gas exiting the SCR catalyst, while the plurality of peripheral inlet openings are positioned to receive a second portion of exhaust gas exiting the SCR catalyst. The swirler guides extend radially inwards from a respective peripheral inlet opening, so as to swirl the second portion of exhaust gas about and into the first portion of exhaust gas.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 5, 2014
Date of Patent: April 17, 2018
    Assignee: DEERE & COMPANY

  • Patent number: 9145818
Abstract: An exhaust gas sampling device coupled to an aftertreatment system for treating exhaust gas flowing therethrough. The exhaust gas sampling device comprises an inlet passage, an outlet passage, a sensor passage, and a sensor. The inlet passage extracts a portion of the exhaust gas from the aftertreatment system, and the portion of the exhaust gas has a physical property that that is substantially similar to an equivalent physical property of a cross section of the exhaust gas flowing through the aftertreatment system. The sensor passage is positioned fluidly between the inlet passage and the outlet passage, and the sensor is in fluid communication with the sensor passage for providing a signal indicative of a property of the portion of the exhaust gas. The outlet passage reintroduces the portion of the exhaust gas back into the aftertreatment system.
