  • Patent number: 10633049
Abstract: An aerodynamic front fork assembly for a bicycle may include an elongated crown portion extending from a steerer tube to a distal end behind a front wheel, with one or more fork blades projecting in a generally forward direction from the distal end of the crown portion to engage the front wheel. The crown portion may substantially fill the gap between the front wheel and the down tube of the bicycle, thereby collectively forming an airfoil with the front wheel and the down tube.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 25, 2018
Date of Patent: April 28, 2020

  • Patent number: 4582011
Abstract: A vessel having adjustable hydrofoils. The vessel is preferably a multi-hull sailing vessel such as a catamaran or trimaran. The hydrofoils diverge upwardly and outwardly from a location below the waterline of the vessel and in the plane of the longitudinal axis of the vessel. The hydrofoils are pivotally mounted at the inner lower ends thereof to permit said hydrofoils to pivot forwardly and rearwardly to alter the angle of attack of said hydrofoils.

  • Patent number: 4467571
Abstract: This invention relates to construction units and assemblies, and to structures fabricated from such units and assemblies, and is particularly concerned with stressed membrane structures, and specifically with modular, multiple membrane structures.

  • Patent number: 4354437
Abstract: A folding table or like structure having a generally planar top supported on the floor by four or more legs, a support structure comprising: two points of articulation under the underside of the table top located at some distance inward from the edge of the table; two splayed legs in V-formation extending from each point of articulation to a point on the floor approximately vertically below the corner of the table top; a cable network interconnecting the lower ends of said legs; and a second series of cables extending from each corner of the table top to the lower end of the leg located below the respective corner, the arrangement being such that in the assembled state all cables are in tension and the legs are in compression.

  • Patent number: 4290643
Abstract: A folding chair is formed of an integral tensile structure having eight articulated compression members with inner ends transfixed by a central ring. The outer ends of the compression members are joined by cables and a concave fabric seat to hold the chair in a usable position, one cable being released to collapse and fold the chair. To maintain the orientation of the ring on unfolding the chair, the inner ends of two compression members have engaged teeth formed thereon.
