  • Patent number: 6107956
Abstract: A Forward Looking Sensor (FLS) alignment system includes a transmit antenna adapted to provide multiple beams, a receive antenna adapted to provide multiple beams, a transmitter coupled to said transmit antenna and adapted to radiate an electromagnetic signal through selected ones of the multiple antenna beams of said transmit antenna and a receiver coupled to said receive antenna and adapted to receive through selected ones of the multiple antenna beams of predetermined antenna beams of a receive antenna having multiple antenna beams reflections from the radiated electromagnetic signal and processing the received electromagnetic signal reflections to generate an alignment offset signal.

  • Patent number: 5929802
Abstract: An automotive forward looking sensor (FLS) includes (a) a voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) having an input port to which a VCO control signal comprising at least one of a ramp up portion and a ramp down portion is coupled and an output port at which a transmit RF signal is provided for coupling to a transmit antenna and (b) a linearization circuit having a first input port to which a feedback signal proportional to the transmit RF signal is coupled, a second input port to which a fixed frequency reference signal is coupled and an output port at which an error signal proportional to at least one of a phase difference and a frequency difference between the feedback signal and the fixed frequency reference signal is provided, wherein the VCO control signal is a function of the error signal and wherein the at least one ramp up portion and ramp down portion has a substantially linear slope.

  • Patent number: 5856713
Abstract: A multiple terminal selector switch for use with millimeter-wave signals has a layout of components enabling the switch to be constructed on a monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) chip while maintaining adequately low cross talk among ports of the switch to retain isolation among its ports. The circuitry includes a transmission line having multiple taps spaced apart by an integral number of half wavelengths of the signal, wherein the taps connect to separate ports via arms of the circuit. Each arm has an electronically switchable element for producing open or short circuits for connection and disconnection of a switch port from the transmission line. One primary tap of the transmission line is unswitched and connects with a further port from which, or to which, signals of the other ports are selectively switched.

  • Patent number: 4700193
Abstract: A monopulse receiving arrangement is shown to comprise orthogonally polarized and electrically separate monopulse antenna arrays, one such array being made up of juxtaposed slotted waveguides and the other being made up of at least one monopulse array of dipoles printed on a dielectric material.

  • Patent number: 4554549
Abstract: A radar antenna is shown in a first embodiment to have a ground plane and a feed line on opposite sides of a dielectric sheet and a ring-shaped antenna element on another dielectric sheet to form a microstrip assembly wherein such antenna element is capacitively coupled to the feed line. In a second embodiment the radar antenna has a parasitic antenna element on still another dielectric sheet, such parasitic antenna element being in register with the ring-shaped antenna element.
