Publication number: 20230227085Abstract: A wheel brake is disclosed to communicate with at least one wheel of a wheeled article (e.g., a wagon) to prevent the wheel from rotating and the wheeled article from rolling away. A toothed locking gear is attached to a hub of the wheel so that the wheel and the locking gear rotate together. A brake pedal of the wheel brake is pivotally connected to the wagon at a wheel bracket thereof to be rotatable in response to a pushing force applied thereto towards and into locking engagement with the locking gear. A coupler (e.g., a locking pin) of the brake pedal is received between a successive pair of teeth of the toothed locking gear, such that the locking gear and the wheel to which the locking gear is attached are unable to rotate, whereby the wheeled article is held in place.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 14, 2022Publication date: July 20, 2023Inventors: Brian Horowitz, William F. Ryczek, Thomas Wai-Yan Wang

Patent number: 11370467Abstract: Disclosed is a wagon adapted to be folded between an expanded open configuration and a compact collapsed configuration. A basket of the wagon is carried by a collapsible frame having height adjustment legs at the corners thereof. Height adjustment guides that stand upwardly from wheel brackets are slidable up and down through respective height adjustment legs such that the elevation of the frame and the basket carried thereby can be selectively changed. Rotatable handles are pivotally attached to the wagon at the front and the rear of the wagon frame. Telescoping canopy support assemblies are removably received downwardly within and upwardly from respective ones of the height adjustment guides to hold a removable canopy over the wagon basket. A collapsible wagon frame support has a set of rotatable frame reinforcing rods pivotally and detachably connected by ball and socket couplings to the bottom of the wagon frame at the corners thereof.Type: GrantFiled: February 5, 2021Date of Patent: June 28, 2022Inventors: Brian Horowitz, Thomas Wai-Yan Wang, William F Ryczek

Publication number: 20220181014Abstract: A wireless digital treatment and warning system for veterinarian animal cages is disclosed. The wireless digital treatment and warning system includes software that reads stored data for a course of treatment and prescription medication information for a particular animal in a particular cage, identifies the unique veterinarian animal cage number for the particular animal, identifies a digital display panel number paired with the unique veterinarian animal cage number for the particular animal, visually outputs digitized treatment information for the particular animal in time-synchronized accordance with the course of treatment and prescription medication information for the particular animal, and triggers the colored warning lights to activate as a visual warning alert to feed, medicate, or take care of the particular animal.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 7, 2021Publication date: June 9, 2022Inventors: Mitchell Weiss, Thomas Wang, William F. Patent number: 6213622Abstract: There is disclosed herein a new form of stair lighting system and fixtures. A wire way is disposed along the sides of a stairway, and lighting fixtures each preferably with a plurality of light sources are suitably affixed to the riser sections of the stairway on each side of the stairway. Each light fixture preferably is molded as one piece from a suitable plastic and can include preferably three light sources such as LEDs for directing light toward the riser and toward the adjacent stair step. This arrangement is relatively simple and facilitates installation of suitable stairway lighting. Also disclosed is a new form of lighting fixture for use underneath the arm rest of a theater chair for illuminating adjacent stairs and risers.Type: GrantFiled: January 22, 1999Date of Patent: April 10, 2001Assignee: Shimada Enterprises, Inc.Inventors: Takehiko Shimada, William F. Patent number: 6003201Abstract: A method and apparatus for counteracting the effects of warpage, distortion and/or tilting of a support track in a sliding closure assembly, such that a door in the sliding closure may be freely moved along the support track, but, when desired, may be secured in one or more locations such that an external force is required to move the sliding fixture from its desired position.Type: GrantFiled: June 13, 1997Date of Patent: December 21, 1999Assignee: Arthur Cox & Sons, Inc.Inventor: William F. Patent number: 5568673Abstract: A means for the vertical or height adjustment of folding doors comprises a pivot pin assembly utilizing a threaded adjustment bolt with a separate, unthreaded pivot pin. The bolt is threaded into the sleeve above the pivot pin. A lower interior portion of the sleeve includes a polygonal interior cross-section which matches the head of the pin and prevents the pin from rotating. The pivot pin may be held within the sleeve during shipment and installation by a friction fit with a cap positioned in the bottom of the sleeve, or instead a spring may be used between the pivot pin and cap to urge the pin upwardly. Rotation of the bolt vertically adjusts the pin.Type: GrantFiled: October 27, 1994Date of Patent: October 29, 1996Assignee: Arthur Cox & Sons, Inc.Inventor: William F. Ryczek

Patent number: 5548869Abstract: A pivot assembly employs a pivot block to resist lateral forces and facilitate door alignment. The assembly includes a sleeve, pivot pin, pivot block and jamb bracket. The jamb bracket is connected to a corner between a jamb and a floor. The pivot block mounts on to the jamb bracket with anchors that engage serrations in a slot of the jamb bracket. The pivot block includes two halves resiliently connected at one end and separated by a gap, with a conical socket centered along the gap. A pivot pin is threaded into a sleeve mounted to the lower edge of a door to adjust height. A head on the lower end of the pin engages grooves in the pivot block socket. The pivot block halves separate to accommodate the pivot pin, and to cause the pivot block halves to be anchored in the jamb bracket. To properly align the door, the door is lifted to disengage the pivot pin from the pivot block. Vertical height is adjusted by rotating the pivot pin in the sleeve.Type: GrantFiled: March 31, 1994Date of Patent: August 27, 1996Assignee: Arthur Cox & Sons, Inc.Inventor: William F. Ryczek

Patent number: 5118177Abstract: A drawer has oppositely facing flanges extending from the top of each side wall, perpendicular to each side wall, and a pair of rollers at each rear corner. Two drawer runners are mounted below a surface in alignment with the drawer side walls, each runner having oppositely facing flanges for engaging the drawer-mounted wheels and a pair of wheels for engaging the drawer-mounted flanges. The drawer runners have depressions for holding the drawer wheels in a closed position and ramps for slowing the drawer wheels before reaching the opened position. The drawer is assembled from parts which snap together. The drawer runners are specifically designed to snap into place below a set of horizontal steel planks forming a shelf.Type: GrantFiled: August 10, 1990Date of Patent: June 2, 1992Assignee: The Stanley WorksInventor: William F. Patent number: 4995323Abstract: A modular shelving system has a pair of vertical supports for a central stack of shelves. Each shelf is supported by a pair of shelf support brackets extending between the vertical supports and the back wall of a closet, for example. Each shelf has a plurality of sheet metal planks of generally trapezoidal cross section which elastically snap into complementary bosses along the tops of the shelf support brackets. Similar shelves extend from the central stack to side walls of the closet and are supported there by side wall brackets which also have bosses along the top complementary to the cross section of the planks. Some of the brackets have sockets for receiving the ends of hanger bars beneath the shelves.Type: GrantFiled: March 2, 1989Date of Patent: February 26, 1991Assignee: The Stanley WorksInventors: Kenneth K.
