  • Patent number: 5982274
Abstract: A paperless recorder for recording pressure and alarm condition data from a fire controller for a fire pump control system. The fire pump is connected a pipe network which has a pressure sensor for sensing pipe pressure. The recorder is connected to the pressure sensor and checks for pressure changes. When a pressure change is detected, it is stored in an electronic memory. Pressure readings are also periodically stored in the electronic memory. The recorder may also monitor alarm voltages and alarm contacts which may also be stored in the electronic memory. The stored data may be transmitted to a computer via modem or port connection for further analysis.

  • Patent number: 5729698
Abstract: A method for compiling data and printing a submittal for fire pump system installations is disclosed. The program is designed for use on a computer with a laser printer. A master file having drawings and data relating to fire pump, driver, and control systems is stored on the computer. A user may select equipment based on desired characteristics and compose and print a submittal having data on the selected equipment as well as the related drawings. The program also allows a user to add drawings or modify the data in the master file.

  • Patent number: 5142213
Abstract: A wye-delta open transition motor starter provided with a leading phase monitor and a method of using the same such that transient currents during the open transition are limited to acceptable magnitudes.

  • Patent number: 4951024
Abstract: A three phase saturating reactor is constructed of thin E and I shaped laminations that are interleaved to minimize the effects of air gaps. The laminations include apertures that are in alignment and four identical frame members are secured thereto by means of insulated bolts that pass through the apertures in the core and corresponding holes in the frame members. The taps of the electrical phase coils that encircle the legs of the core are of heavy conductors that are self-supporting. The saturating reactor design is such that the core is driven into saturation at a small percentage of the rated current of the reactor to rapidly develop a back EMF when in a motor starting circuit.
