  • Patent number: 8632685
Abstract: A multistage dissolved air flotation and advanced oxidation (MDAF-AO) system/method with multi-functions in oil recovery, solids removal, emulsion breaking, and advanced oxidation. Influent, with oil and suspended solids, enters a first stage for oil recovery includes a gas ionizer and an air dissolving pump. A second stage includes of two coagulation/flotation compartments connected in serial to enhance solids removal efficiencies. Micro air bubbles are created by air dissolving pumps in each compartment. A third stage is for the emulsion breaking unit to further remove or recover the emulsified oils. A fourth stage includes advanced oxidation by using ultraviolet (UV) and hydrogen peroxide to oxidize and disinfect the bacteria and microorganisms.

  • Publication number: 20100211416
Abstract: A Healthcare Funding Exchange (“HFX”) is implemented as a business service domain of service components communicating with each other wherein the execution of a complete interaction with an external actor is effected by the combined performance of executions by the service components. Each component can operate independently of all the others, and can be accessed by the others through service requests conveyed by a service broker. A complete interaction with an actor external to the domain occurs by one component performing its role, providing a service response, and potentially also issuing new service requests to other components, either during or at the end of its own processing. The service components in a business service domain also all have access to data they may share. One component generally has the responsibility for changing any given element of the shared data, but any components may read it.

  • Patent number: 7225836
Abstract: A pipe plug apparatus configured for insertion into a section of pipe and adapted to radially expand so as to engage the inner surface of the pipe and form a positive seal therewith. The pipe plug is preferably configurable from a non-sealing configuration wherein radially expandable seals are relaxed by application of pressure from a compressed fluid, to a spring biased sealing configuration automatically upon release of the pressure. A positive seal is automatically formed and maintained by spring biased axial compression.

  • Publication number: 20050184011
Abstract: The car wash water reclamation system treats car wash wastewater that is contaminated with sediment, odors and bacteria so the water can be reclaimed and recycled through the car wash system for reuse. The car wash reclamation system uses a multi-step process to first remove odors and bacteria from the car wash wastewater, then remove heavy sand and grit, prior to final filtration to remove the small diameter particulate matter from the car wash wastewater. Upon completion of the entire cycle, the treated wastewater is clean enough to be reclaimed and used again in the car wash.

  • Patent number: 6909251
Abstract: Apparatus (10) for the removal of a needle assembly A having a needle hub H which is screw-threadedly engaged with a syringe S, said apparatus (10) comprising a housing (11) having an opening (16) for insertion of the needle assembly A and adjacent portion of the syringe, a socket (19) mounted within the housing (11) in alignment with the opening (16) with a cavity (22) shaped to receive the hub H and a coaxial through-bore (23) to accommodate the needle. The socket (19) holds the hub rotationally fast allowing the syringe S and needle assembly A to be unscrewed, and an ejector means (51) located in the housing ejects the unscrewed needle assembly A from the socket (19) into a collection container (42) located within the housing (11).

  • Publication number: 20050000905
Abstract: The present multi-stage photo-catalytic oxidation fluid treatment system that uses a plurality of modules to implement an efficient, scalable and cost effective fluid treatment process to remove contaminants from a fluid. The multi-stage photo-catalytic oxidation fluid treatment system relies on mechanical and electronic elements, instead of chemicals, to treat the fluid that is input to the system and provide enhanced treatment of the contaminated fluid. The use of ozone and ions causes reactions with the contaminants that are contained in the fluid to purge the contaminants from the fluid or convert the contaminants to a form where they can be removed from the fluid or are rendered harmless.

  • Patent number: 6666358
Abstract: A beer container comprises an inner hollow shell of blow moulded PET to hold beer, an outer hollow shell of moulded high density polyethylene enclosing and supporting the inner shell and a spear structure including a dispenser tube extending from a bottom interior region of the inner shell through to a dispensing outlet at the top of the outer shell. The spear structure incorporates valves for supply of pressurizing gas into the interior of inner shell and for dispensing beer through the dispensing outlet, both valves being formed of PET. When the container has been emptied of beer, the outer shell can readily be separated from the inner shell and spear structure to allow separate recycling of the high density polyethylene material and the PET material.
