  • Publication number: 20100203209
Abstract: The present invention provides a unique process and system for brewing beverages for retail or commercial use where the key brewing parameters are independently controlled to produce multi-cup batches of brewed beverage of optimum taste. This invention is applicable to both retail and commercial applications and is scalable in quantities ranging from one cup to three gallons or more of brewed beverage. Since the extraction and solid-liquid separation are conducted separately and independently, the present invention decouples these two operations to avoid reduction in taste quality while still being able to provide large multi-cup batches.

  • Patent number: 4217585
Abstract: A dual frequency moving target radar system having a lower frequency chan which provides relatively good moving target detection in the presence of such obstacles as foliage and precipitation and a higher frequency channel which provides accurate location of targets wherein the Doppler signals from the two channels are correlated to provide suitable target identification which target and clutter are present in the same resolution cell. The Doppler frequency is processed to distinguish the moving target from other returns. Electroacoustic transducers can be used in either of said channels to aid in target identification.

    Filed: November 9, 1978
Date of Patent: August 12, 1980
Assignee: The United States of America as represented by the Secretary of the Army
Inventors: William Fishbein, Otto E. Rittenbach
  • Patent number: 4123755
Abstract: Interference between radar systems is eliminated by using shaped pulses. In one embodiment, the pulse has a cosine shape, in another a cos.sup.2 shape and in a third embodiment a cos.sup.n shape. In yet another embodiment, a single sideband shaped pulse is employed.

  • Patent number: 4078234
Abstract: A CW radar transmitter is simultaneously frequency modulated with a sinusal wave and phase-modulated with a pseudorandom binary code. Both the frequency of the FM signal and the bits and bit duration in the binary code can be varied to change the resolution and range of the system.

  • Patent number: 4041488
Abstract: A Doppler radar system in which quadrature Doppler signals are derived to eld directional information. The quadrature signals are derived by demodulating the return signals with respective odd and even harmonics of the sinusoidal signal used to frequency modulate the RF carrier.

    Filed: April 19, 1976
Date of Patent: August 9, 1977

    Inventors: William Fishbein, Otto Rittenbach
  • Patent number: 4010468
Abstract: Interference between two or more radar systems operating on the same freqcy is eliminated by synchronizing the rotation of the scanning antennas. In another embodiment, each transmitter is blanked if the corresponding receiver detects an interfering signal from the other transmitter. In yet another embodiment, the transmitter pulses are not blanked but merely delayed, if a pulse is received from the interfering system.
