  • Patent number: 9033167
Abstract: An insert which is useable with a baby bottle, a baby bottle including an insert, and a method of feeding an infant that serves to pace the infant's feeding rhythm. Generally, these devices and methods will be of use for a preterm infant, but that is by no means limiting because full term infants could also benefit from these devices and methods. The device generally cues the infant to swallow and breathe after each 1-4 sucks by stopping the flow of the fluid from the bottle after the infant has sucked sufficiently. Once the baby breathes, the bottle resets for the next repetition.

Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure relate to systems and methods for controlling a gas turbine. In one embodiment, a method can be provided. Measurement data associated with the operation of a gas turbine may be received to determine if the current operating state of the gas turbine is associated with a predefined risk. Thereafter, the measurement data and one or more model operating parameters for operation of the inlet bleed heat system that minimizes the risk may be identified in order to generate one or more control signals operable to adjust the operation of the inlet bleed heat system for the gas turbine to adjust the one or more model operating parameters.

  • Publication number: 20140121847
Abstract: Systems and methods for providing stepping actuations in a power generation unit are disclosed. Certain embodiments herein may relate to manipulating actuators to produce a desired output in a power generation unit without disrupting production by the power generation output, such as megawatt and/or steam production. A model may be generated that includes one or more inputs and associated outputs in a power generation unit. The model may be leveraged to determine an actuator to adjust to create a desired output, as well as one or more different actuators to adjust to offset an otherwise negative impact on power generation unit production while maintaining the desired output.

  • Publication number: 20070141066
Abstract: The invention provides generally a method of monitoring, diagnosing, prognosing and treating glioma. Specifically, the invention provides for three (3) prognostic subclasses of glioma, which are differentially associated with activation of the akt and notch signaling pathways. Tumor displaying neural or proneural PN lineage markers (including notch pathway elements) show longer median patient survival, while the two remaining tumor markers Prolif and Mes are associated with shortened survival. Tumors classified in this manner may also be treated with the appropriate PN- Prolif- or Mes-therapeutic corresponding to the subclassification in combination with anti-mitotic agents, anti-angiogenic agents, Akt antagonists, and neural differentiation agents. Alternatively, the invention also provides for method of prognosing and diagnosing glioma with a two-gene model based on the expression levels of PTEN and DLL3.
