  • Patent number: 10230184
Abstract: An electrical contact for insertion into a hole of a substrate. The electrical contact includes a compliant portion having an opening extending between contact arms. At least one contact arm of the contact arms has a resilient engagement section which extends into the opening of the compliant portion and resilient contacting sections which extend from the engagement section in a direction away from the opening. Upon insertion of the compliant portion into the hole of the substrate, the resilient engagement section of the at least one contact arm engages an opposed contact arm of the contact arms, causing each of the resilient contacting sections to move independently of the resilient engagement section and other resilient contacting sections. Each of the resilient engagement section and the resilient contacting sections are deformed and generate independent retention forces which are combined to generate the total retention force of the compliant portion.

  • Patent number: 10096917
Abstract: An electrical contact includes a compliant portion having an opening extending between contact arms. A first contact arm of the contact arms has multiple resilient engagement sections extending into the opening of the compliant portion and resilient contacting sections extending from the engagement sections in a direction away from the opening. Upon insertion of the compliant portion into the hole of the substrate, the resilient engagement sections of the first contact arm engage an opposed second contact arm of the contact arms, causing each of the resilient contacting sections to move independently of the resilient engagement sections and independently of other resilient contacting sections. • Patent number: 7875186
Abstract: The invention consists of a water treatment process using selective and regenerable weak base anion exchange resins to remove any number of complex anions, especially oxyanions including perchlorate, nitrate, chlorate, arsenate, selenate, and chromate, from aqueous solutions. The treatment process is comprised of three key processes including 1) pretreatment to lower pH, 2) ion exchange, and 3) post treatment to adjust pH and alkalinity. The invention also includes processes for regenerating weak base anion resins and treatment of the residuals generated. This invention employs pressurized treatment, carbon dioxide management, and reuse of regenerating solution to minimize pumping and treatment costs.

  • Publication number: 20070270720
Abstract: An instrument for at least estimating physiologic pressure such as central venous pressure (CVP) non-invasively includes an ultrasound probe coupled to a display that shows the deformation of a vein as pressure is applied outside the body through the skin and soft tissues. A pressure transducer is applied to the skin to compress a vein, and an indicator coupled to the transducer shows the amount of pressure being applied when the ultrasound probe shows that the vein has collapsed. In the preferred embodiment, the transducer is an inelastic balloon filled with a liquid such as water, and the indicator is in fluid communication with the balloon. The indicator may be a mechanical gauge or meter, or may include a material that converts applied pressure to an electrical signal, in which case the electrical signal may be interfaced to a numerical readout. At least the probe and the transducer are preferably disposed in a hand-held housing.

  • Patent number: 7086872
Abstract: A header assembly includes an insulative contact housing having a plurality of walls defining an interior cavity and an insulative alignment housing having at least one alignment rib extending on an exterior surface thereof. The alignment housing is separately provided and independently mounted to the contact housing. A plurality of contacts are included within the cavity and extend through one of the walls to an exterior of the contact housing wherein the contacts flex against the alignment housing and abut the alignment rib, thereby ensuring coplanarity of the contacts for surface mounting to a circuit board.
