  • Patent number: 11878109
Abstract: Embodiments relate to a single-use device for delivery of medication into a nasal cavity. In an embodiment, the device includes a propellant canister containing a propellant capable of propelling the compound to the nasal cavity. The propellant canister is displaceable between an unactuated position and an actuated position within the device. The device further includes an actuation element with an actuation lever configured to displace the propellant canister from the unactuated position to the actuated position. The device also includes a puncture element positioned to puncture the propellant canister, which causes the release of the propellant from the propellant canister. The device further includes a dose holding chamber containing a unit dose of the compound. The dose holding chamber is positioned such that propellant flows into the dose holding chamber and causes the compound to be propelled from the dose holding chamber to the nasal cavity of the user.

  • Patent number: 11878110
Abstract: A device for delivering a compound to the olfactory region of the nasal cavity includes an actuator body and a tip that removably couples to the actuator body. The actuator body comprises a propellant channel in fluid communication with a propellant canister. The tip comprises an exit channel, an inlet interface, one or more grooves, and an outlet orifice. The exit channel extends between a proximal end and a distal end of the tip. The inlet interface is positioned about a distal end of the exit channel, and the inlet interface couples to a compound container containing the compound. The grooves are positioned about the inlet interface and direct propellant from the propellant channel into the compound container, thereby agitating and entraining the compound in the compound container with the released propellant. The compound and the propellant then travel through the exit channel and out the outlet orifice.

  • Publication number: 20230380911
Abstract: Electromagnetic sensing for use with ablation treatment devices are described. Generally, an elongate body may be configured for introduction into an esophageal lumen and a distal portion may be pivotably coupled to the elongate body such that actuation of the distal portion reconfigures the distal portion within a plane relative to the elongate body. The elongate body may define one or more openings along the distal portion and which are in fluid communication with a fluid port. A sensor may also be positioned near or at a distal end of the distal portion where the sensor is configured to communicate with an electromagnetic navigational system to determine a distance to an ablation catheter.

  • Patent number: 11820509
Abstract: An embodiment of the invention provides a method where retractable ducts or shrouds are extended over propeller(s) that are fixed in wing channels on an aircraft during takeoff and landing to increase flight safety and efficiency. Fully extending the duct or shroud during takeoff increases lift and upward thrust, while retracting the duct or shroud and stowing the duct or shroud inside of the wing during forward cruise decreases aircraft drag and increases lift. Duct or shroud extension during takeoff also enables critical safety and noise cancellation functionality. The method provided for safe and efficient takeoff can be applied in reverse order for safe and efficient landing.

  • Patent number: 11759585
Abstract: A nasal drug delivery device for delivering a plume derived from a propellant and a drug compound. The drug compound is in an intranasal dosage form in the form of powder, suspension, dispersion, or liquid. The propelled intranasal dosage form is deposited within the upper nasal cavity such as the olfactory region. The drug deposited within the olfactory region is delivered to the brain avoiding the blood-brain-barrier. Hydrofluoroalkane propellant from a pressurized canister is channeled to a diffuser and drug-containing channel where the intranasal dosage form is aerosolized. The aerosolized intranasal dosage form passes through a nozzle thus delivering a plume to the user's upper nasal cavity.

  • Patent number: 11571532
Abstract: A device for delivering a compound to the olfactory region of the nasal cavity includes an actuator body and a tip configured to removably couple to the actuator body. The actuator body comprises a propellant channel in fluid communication with a propellant canister. The tip comprises a tip stem, a dip tube, a delivery channel, one or more puncture members, and an outlet orifice. The tip stem receives a compound container containing the compound and the compound container moves between a sealed state and an unsealed state. The one or more puncture members are each configured to puncture the compound container when the compound container is in the unsealed state. Propellant released from the canister travels through the propellant channel and into the punctured compound container, thereby contacting the compound and propelling the compound through the delivery channel and out the outlet orifice.

  • Patent number: 10689089
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide an entry assist system for an aircraft doorway. The system includes a securement member configured to be secured into at least one aperture of the doorway, a handle portion pivotally attached to the securement member, and a releasable locking feature for locking the handle portion. A mounting device is used for securing the stationary member to an existing aperture in the doorway and for removing the entry assist system when no longer needed. The securement member forms a stationary portion along an inner edge of the doorway. The handle portion includes a hub configured for rotating about an axle that is coupled to an interface of the securement member. The hub and interface interconnect to form the releasable locking feature for locking the handle in a collapsed position adjacent the securement member or in an extended position protruding outside the doorway.

  • Patent number: 10409829
Abstract: Described is a system and method for updating a contact and adding a new contact from a call log in a communications device. The system includes a contact manager that is directed towards creating and updating call contact cards in a contact database with information retrieved from call logs of phone calls made to or from the communications device. In one embodiment, information is pre-populated into a predetermined data field of the contact card, thereby reducing workload to a user. The method includes determining if a request is for updating an existing contact card or for adding a new contact card to the contact database. The update or addition is made with information retrieved from call logs. Call information is pre-populated into a predetermined data field of the contact card, when it is determined that the request is to add a new contact card to the contact database.

  • Patent number: 10169111
Abstract: A unified mechanism for storing device, application, and service state, as well as a rich notification brokerage architecture includes a notification broker. Clients register with the notification broker to receive notifications for changes to state properties. When a registered state property changes, a notification broker determines which clients to notify of the state change and provides the client with a notification regarding the change. Clients may be notified whenever a state changes, when a state change meets a predetermined condition, or based on a schedule. An application may also be launched in response to a state change. An application programming interface (API) is provided that provides a unified way of accessing state change information across different components within the device.
